Warframe Grimoire (How to Get, Crafting, Mods & Skins)

Grimoire (Secondary Weapon) in Warframe“Claim the power of Albrecht Entrati’s Knowledge.”

The Grimoire is an ancient book that was owned by Albrecht Entrati, which is capable of both dealing massive amounts of damage and assisting the allies of its wielder.

It is a secondary weapon that was introduced with The Whisper in the Walls update, which can be obtained by players in multiple ways.

While it is mainly used as a means to destroy enemies of its owners, it has a special feature that provides buffs based on what Tome Mod has been installed in it.

Grimoire StatsGrimoire Secondary Weapon Stats

The Grimoire attacks in a way where its wielder withdraws energy from it and releases it toward its targets with 2 different attacks.

Its primary attack is considered automatic fire, allowing users to continuously release bolts of Electricity Damage Projectiles without the need to reload in any way.

The secondary attack allows the Grimoire’s user to release a large orb of energy that damages enemies that it comes in contact with, which covers a large radius. (Guaranteed Status Effect)

How To Get Grimoire?

1) Whisper in the Walls Quest

Doing Whisper in the Walls quest

The Grimoire can be obtained for free by doing the Whisper in the Walls quest, which allows you to take it during the beginning after you have reached the sleeper. (Loid)

Once you find the Grimoire on its pedestal within the laboratories, you will be instructed to take it before continuing.

The Grimoire will permanently be yours once you have taken it, which can now be used after you have completed the current mission.

2) Purchasing Grimoire Blueprint

Grimoire Blueprint

If for some reason you need another Grimoire such as for making a different build or if you accidentally sold yours, you can always purchase its blueprint from Bird 3 in the Sanctum Anatomica.

This will cost you 50,000 Cavia Standing for its blueprint and once purchased, you can craft it at the Foundry located on your Orbiter.

Grimoire Crafting Resources

The Grimoire Blueprint does not need additional components and may be crafted once you have all the necessary resources.

How To Charge Grimoire?

To use the Grimoire’s secondary attack, which unleashes an orb that damages everything in its path, the gauges displayed beneath your crosshair must be filled.

The Grimoire’s charge will fill overtime but will be boosted when you hit enemies with the Grimoire’s projectiles.

Pressing the alternate attack will release the orb, consuming the whole charged meter, and requiring that it be filled before being used again.

Grimoire Mods (Tome Mods)Tome Mods

With the release of the Whispers in the Walls update, the Grimoire was introduced along with a set of specific Tome Mods that it can use.

These Tome Mods may be obtained as a reward from Rotation C (5% Chance To Drop) in the Munion Mission (Mirror Defense) on Deimos.

Additionally, you can purchase all of the Tome Mods for 140 Platinum from the in-game market, which can easily be accessed aboard your Orbiter.

Grimoire Release Date

The Grimoire weapon release date was December 13, 2023, along with the Whispers in the Walls update, which is where it is also obtained.

It was mentioned early on before its release, which caused it to gain the interest of several players as it appeared to be more magical than a concept of energy at some point.

Later it was revealed that the scientist known as Albrecht Entrati was the original owner, which may explain its tremendous power.

Grimoire SkinsSkins of Grimoire

The Grimoire was released with 2 available skins, which are the Necratech Tome Skin as well as the Vitreum Tome Skin.

The Necratech Tome Skin is designed to make the appearance of the Grimoire more high-tech rather than magical or energy-based.

Taking on a more magical look is the Vitreum Tome, which features an appearance that has a watchful eye on the cover of the tome.

Grimoire GameplayUsing Grimoire against enemies

The Grimoire is used mainly in two ways, which is to deal massive amounts of damage through its automatic fire along with its secondary orb attack.

One of the other uses is if it is equipped with a Tome Mod, which provides benefits when the wielder of the Grimoire uses the alternate fire or kills enemies.

The automatic fire is similar to the Acceltra in certain ways, having a small radius of damage after impact but it also features a slow traveling orb that has a large radius as an alternate.

The Tome Mods are a great way to provide your team with an advantage against enemies, making it best to either have a damage build or one that includes a Tome Mod.

Verdict

The Grimoire on its own is a powerful weapon and can even be used as a primer for builds that will allow you to benefit from mods such as Condition Overload.

Its ability to damage multiple enemies makes it convenient for certain missions and thanks to its continuous fire, some builds can take advantage of its infinite ammunition.

While the Grimoire is considered to purely deal Electricity Damage, it can be modded to have different/multiple elements.
