When Whispers in the Walls was released, we were introduced to several changes, and aside from Tennokai, melee weapons got a huge bonus.
This comes in the form of Melee Arcanes, which can give an excessively huge bonus to what you can do with your builds.
These Melee Arcanes need to be obtained first though but luckily, there are multiple ways for you to get them if you grind hard for them.
How To Get Melee Arcanes?
There are currently 3 ways to get Melee Arcanes but not all of them are obtainable in the same manner as certain ones will require doing some of the more difficult activities.
Some of the Melee Arcanes can be purchased from Bird 3 in the Sanctum Anatomica, which each requires a certain amount of Cavia Standing. (Uncommon Arcanes cost 5,000 while rare ones cost 7,500)
The following can be purchased from Bird 3:
- Melee Retaliation (5,000)
- Melee Fortification (5,000)
- Melee Exposure (7,500)
- Melee Influence (7,500)
- Melee Animosity (7,500)
- Melee Vortex (7,500)
Another way to get Melee Arcanes is to defeat The Fragmented Suzerain, which can be done in the Effervo Mission on Deimos.
This gives you a chance to get a Melee Arcane when you defeat the boss and it will appear when you extract from the missions.
The most difficult and best way to obtain all the Melee Arcanes is to do Netracells runs, which can be initiated from Tagfer. (Sanctum Anatomica)
Netracells is known to be the only way to get the rarer Melee Arcanes such as Melee Duplicate and Melee Crescendo.

Verdict
Melee Arcanes play a huge role with melee builds as they provide you with a better bonus depending on what build you are going for.
Playing around with the different Melee Arcanes available is a great way to create a good build, especially if it adds a final touch that you have been so longingly needing.
You will need to grind the latest additions to the game that were brought by the Whispers in the Walls update but you can also purchase them from other players with Platinum.
