Scourge of the Land is a powerful demon that you encounter in some of the dungeons throughout Sanctuary that can be defeated to obtain loot and Aspects.
Depending on which dungeon you encounter this boss in, the Aspects will be different as well as the challenges you need to complete to get to him.
This demon wields a large mace and has powerful attacks that can leave an area burning as he calls in his minions to attack you.
Scourge of the Land Location
You will encounter Scourge of the Land in several dungeons as he is a boss that rewards Aspects and loot at the following locations:
- Betrayer’s Row (Accursed Wastes, Dry Steppes)
- Endless Gates (Umir Plateau, Hawezar)
- Grinning Labyrinth (Khargi Crags, Dry Steppes)
- Inferno (Amber Sands, Kehjistan)
- Path of the Blind (Khargai Crags, Dry Steppes)
- Prison of Caldeum (Caldeum, Kehjistan)
Scourge of the Land Fight (Attacks)
Scourge of the Land tends to attack you with a large mace and can also breathe out fire and summon demons to attack you.
1) Double Slam
Scourge of the Land takes his large mace and slams the ground twice, leaving a burning pool that deals damage over time. (Evade or move around the Scourge of the Land and avoid the pools)
2) Summon Demons
Opens a rift that allows different types of demons to spawn in the area, which causes an explosion and also leaves a burning pool. (Create space and kill)
3) Fire Breath
After taking a large breath, the Scourge of the Land unleashes flames in front of it for a short duration, dealing damage to those standing within range. (Evade or move out of the way)
Scourge of the Land Strategy
Scourge of the Land is a bit slow and can easily be outrun but he will often spawn demons to fight beside him, which may need to be taken out first.
It is best to evade his Fire Breath by moving out of the way and attacking him as this gives you a good amount of time to get a lot of attacks in.
When he attempts to use his Double Slam, you should move out of the way and keep your distance from the pools left behind.
You should take advantage whenever he is vulnerable and he should be an easy boss to take down but avoid getting overwhelmed by his minions.
