The Broodguard is a giant spider that can be found guarding some of the dungeons that you explore in Diablo 4, that drops rewards.
It seems that this overgrown spider has been guarding some of the darkest places in Sanctuary and does not hesitate when it comes to killing new prey.
This large spider has a habit of ensnaring you as well as causing damage over time with the toxic bombs that it launches.
Broodguard Location
There are a few dungeons where you can find the Broodguard, each of them allowing you to unlock a certain Aspect once you defeat it.
- Blind Burrows (Fethis Wetlands, Hawezar)
- Defiled Catacomb (Desolate Highlands, Fractured Peaks)
- Hive (Highland Wilds, Scosglen)
Broodguard Fight (Attacks)
The Broodguard mainly attacks by launching different projectiles and tends to run away from time to time if you engage it at melee distance.
It is toxic pools and web traps become deadly if too many have been laid out, especially when there are spiders that have been summoned.
1) Toxic Spit
The Broodguard releases toxic projectiles that create pools that damage you over time if you are standing in them.
2) Web Traps
The Broodguard launches a set of webs in random areas that make you immobile if you walk over them, making you a sitting duck.
3) Summon Spiders
Enemy spiders are summoned by the Broodguard, which immediately attack you and may corner you if you have been ensnared by a web.
4) Knockback Slam
The Broodguard extends all of its limbs while slamming the ground to knock you back a short distance, giving it space to attack from afar.
Broodguard Strategy
The Broodguard does not do that much at melee range and it is best if you fight the boss up close even if you are using ranged attacks.
It is best to avoid staying in the toxic pools that it creates as well as avoid walking over any webs as this gives your enemies a chance to hit you.
Since the Broodguard often runs away and prefers to attack you from afar, it’s best to chase after it and deal damage while watching out for its traps.
Should the Broodguard summon spiders to aid it, you can avoid taking too much damage by taking them out first as this can even get you extra Healing Potions.
Broodguard Drops
After you have killed the Broodguard, you can get the loot that it drops, which would be around 1 to 2 different items and gold.
Additionally, if you have slain the Broodguard for the first time, you will unlock an Aspect depending on which dungeon you have cleared at, which are the following:
- Aspect of the Tempest (Blind Burrows)
- Aspect of Tempering Blows (Defiled Catacomb)
- Aspect of Swelling Curse (Hive)
