When you are speaking to NPCs you will sometimes have the option to Persuade them, which can change the results of upcoming events.
Persuasion can help you avoid conflict, get things to go your way, and may even reveal secrets easily instead of having you discover them yourself.
This is not as easy as the click of a button though, it requires you to choose the right things to say and involves a bit of luck and skill.
How To Persuade?
To begin Persuading an NPC, you will first need to talk to them until the dialogue reaches the point where the action becomes available.
By choosing the Persuasion option (attached to dialogue), you will be able to begin choosing responses from a set of options.
Each option has a certain level which can add more bars to the Persuasion meter but the higher the points, the less likely a dialogue will work.
Auto-Persuade
Auto-Persuade allows you to win a Persuasion over as the game will complete it perfectly, allowing you to skip the hassle of finding the right things to say.
You will notice that the Auto-Persuade option has a meter going around it and this fills up whenever you choose the correct dialogue choices.
Once the Auto-Persuade bar has been filled, you will be able to use the option and complete the Persuasion without anything to worry about.
How To Increase Persuasion?
1) Persuasion Skill
By leveling up the Persuasion Skill, you will be able to increase your chances of having a successful attempt whenever choosing certain dialogues.
The following are the boosts provided when you level up your Persuasion Skill:
- Rank 1 – Increases Persuasion Success chance by 10%
- Rank 2 – Increases Persuasion Success chance by 20%
- Rank 3 – Increases Persuasion Success chance by 30%
- Rank 4 – Increases Persuasion Success chance by 50%
2) Consumables
There are certain consumables that you can use to boost your Persuasion Chance and these can be purchased, lots and even made.
Some of these include Chandra Cabernet Sauvignon, Hippolyta, and more, which provide a temporary boost long enough for you to persuade an NPC.
3) Clothing
You can equip clothing such as the Corpo Executive Suit, Fashionable Suit, Neocity Corpwear, and more that give a small percentage to increase your Persuasion Chance.
You can find all kinds of clothing by looting enemies, exploring abandoned locations, or buying from vendors that you find.
How To Reset Persuasion?
Unfortunately, there is no way for you to redo a Persuasion after it has failed and this can force you to resort to other things, including violence.
There is a method though, which will allow you to safely retry the Persuasion dialogues with NPCs, which is to save (Quicksave recommended) and to load it if you fail.
This will give you countless tries so that you do not lose any progress and proceed with a failed Persuasion attempt.

Just like with other Bethesda titles, Persuasion is one of the many acts that can change the course of the game, making it important to plan out your decisions.
A successful Persuasion encounter can result in many benefits, making it best to pass these as much as possible if you can.
Using the Quicksave technique will allow you to perfect almost any Persuasion but this may require a few retries just in case you choose the wrong responses.
