You can purchase the Aegis ship by visiting the Deimos Staryard, which can be found orbiting Deimos, which means you need to fast travel to the moon to see the Staryard.

Once you reach Deimos in the Sol system, you can head over to the Staryard and dock with it after approaching it to meet a distance of 500 meters or less.

After you have docked with the Staryard, head inside and go to the showroom by heading down a flight of stairs and you can speak to Nikau Henderson to buy the Aegis for 207150 Credits.

Aegis Ship Overview

The Aegis has a lot of weaponry that can destroy a hull easily and enough firepower to shred through an enemy’s shield before doing so.

Its engine provides you with only a moderate amount of speed which won’t always be enough to catch certain ships, but you can always blow them to bits.

With the ability to do a lot of ballistic damage, you can easily target certain ship parts such as an enemy’s engine to disable them.

It has the following parts:

  • Light Scythe Scorch-P 60MW Pulse Laser (Weapon)
  • Horizon Defense Mauler 106S Shot-Cannon (Weapon)
  • Light Scythe Atlatl 270B Missile Launcher (Weapon)
  • Reladyne Nova 1050 Engine
  • Dogstar 22T Defender Shield generator
  • Aurora 12G Grav Drive

Aegis Stats

The Aegis can have a lot of energy placed into its lasers and ballistic weapons to recharge quickly as it has multiple weapons that can be fired simultaneously.

With a moderate engine, outrunning other ships can sometimes be difficult, but this Class-B ship still has a decent amount of hull health and shields.

It has a powerful Grav Drive that allows it to jump a good distance between systems, which is supported by a decent amount of fuel capacity.

Verdict

The Aegis is a more advanced version of the Hoplite, featuring both a different design and better parts for pilots to take advantage of at the cost of a hefty price.

While most of the changes are weapons, the Aegis can outlast the Hoplite as well as other variants or similar ships due to its build.

While the Aegis and Hoplite may be similar in appearance, their stats vary, but some believe that the value of this ship may be a bit expensive during the earlier stages of the game.
