While passing by in Jirandai, you come across a problemed man named Jargal and speak with him to find out what is troubling him.
He explains that a man named Gan had stolen his precious “Tuji” which is his favorite goat and has taken it to Qara Yisu.
You will need to head over to Qara Yisu to search for Gan and Tuji to find out what has happened to them on their way.
How To Get Salt Begets Salt Quest?
You may begin the Salt Begets Salt side quest by speaking to Jargal, who can be found in the southern part of Jirandai near the steps.
This side quest does not require that you have conquered the Qara Yisu as you can simply complete it by heading to the location.
Salt Begets Salt Objectives
1) Search for Tuji in the Ruins of Qara-Yisu
Knowing that Tuji has been taken by Gun and brought to Qara-Yisu, your first destination will be that location and it will be marked on your map. (Go to the location)
Upon reaching Qara-Yisu, you will need to search for Tuji within the marked area and may find its body lying down breathless next to Gun.
It seems that Gun has been turned into salt just like all the other victims in the area but Tuji remains normal and lifeless on the ground.
You will need to interact with Tuji, which will cause you to pick up its body to take back to Jargal in Jirandai.
2) Return Tuji’s body to Jargal
Now that you have recovered Tiju’s body, it’s time to head back to Jargal to return what is left of his precious goat.
You will need to head back to Jirandai and speak to Jargal but to your surprise, Tuji just went into a deep sleep since he ate salt and revives after the two of you speak. (The quest ends here)
Salt Begets Salt Quest Rewards
After returning Tuji to Jargal and witnessing it wake up, the quest will be complete and you will receive the following:
- XP
- Gold
- Salvage Cache
- 30 Dry Steppes Renown
Verdict
Jargal was extremely worried about his pet goat, especially since Sanctuary can be a deadly place to go out and explore on your own.
Thankfully, Tuji only passed out and fell asleep, which explained why he appeared to be lifeless yet not turned into salt.
Gun on the other hand seemed to have been turned completely into salt and chunks of his body were missing, making it evident that Tuji munched on him.
