Diablo 4 has given players a whole new world to explore which can sometimes get a bit tiring if you continuously run around the place.
While Waypoints are a great way to get around, these do not cover every location and eventually you find yourself running from one place to another.
Thankfully, Diablo 4 has mounts that players can use to travel across the land, but these come later in the game after you have progressed.
How to Get Mount?
Mounts can be unlocked by completing the Mount: Donan’s Favor Priority Quest, which becomes available later once you have reached Act IV.
Additionally, you will also need to have completed the quest called A Master’s Touch, which is tied to the quest.
Mount Quest
The Donan’s Favor Mount Quest is a simple quest that you can complete that has your character request the Stable Master for a horse.
All you need to do is speak with them and the Priority Quest will be complete, which will allow you to start using your mount.
How to Use Mount?
Once you have a mount, you will need to press the mount Key to summon your horse, which can be ridden in town and outside of it.
You also have the option to Spur your mount, which will allow you to gain a boost of speed that lets you run past enemies and get to areas faster.
There are two ways to dismount your horse, which are to simply get off it or to do a combat dismount, which lets you use a special attack while jumping off.
The following are the known keys/buttons for controlling your mount:
PC Mount Controls
Mount | Z |
Spur Mount | Space |
Mount Dismount | Mouse 2 |
Mount Combat Dismount | 1 |
Controller Mount Controls
Mount | DPAD RIGHT |
Spur Mount | RT |
Mount Dismount | B |
Mount Combat Dismount | X |
How To Customize Mount?
You can customize your horse by speaking to the Stable Master, which is where you can choose between Mounts, Mount Armors, and Trophies.
Mounts are the different types of mounts that you have, which mainly are the different horse skins that you can use in the game.
Mount Armors are the saddles and other decorations that are equipped onto the horse that allow you to further personalize it.
Trophies are objects that you can equip on your horse, which are later shown being hung around the back of it.
Getting Knocked Off Your Horse
There will be a meter below your XP bar that shows how spooked a horse can get, which causes you to become dismounted when it is full.
This will increase when you are surrounded by monsters or are being attacked and can be avoided by running away from them.
Verdict
Obtaining a mount may require that you progress further into the game but once you have this feature unlocked it becomes very useful.
Once your mount has been unlocked for one character, it will be unlocked for all of them, even those who have not progressed and are at a lower level.
You can obtain different mounts, mount armors, and trophies as you play the game or may purchase them from the Vendor (Stable Master) or the ingame shop.
