How To Get More Than Meets the Eye Quest?

After speaking with Rakhaan, he will be accompanying you to the location that is marked on your map, which is where the entrance to Saraan Caldera. (Head to the marker)

2) Find and disable the Relic in Saraan Caldera

Rakhaan will open the path into Saraan Caldera and the two of you will be heading inside to search for the last relic.

You will need to proceed further into the Caldera Caves until you reach an Ancient Light Device, which is where Rakhaan will wait.

3) Redirect the light beams

Light will need to be redirected and this is done using the Ancient Light Devices that can be found south of where Rakhaan is waiting.

You will need to adjust the Ancient Light Device so that the beams form a star before returning to Rakhaan back where you first came from.

Light will need to be redirected and this is done using the Ancient Light Devices that can be found south of where Rakhaan is waiting.

You will need to adjust the Ancient Light Device so that the beams form a star before returning to Rakhaan back where you first came from.

5) Return to Rakhaan

Return to Rakhaan

Head back to Rakhaan and once you find him, it will appear that he has been transformed into a demon and was hiding his true form.

6) Speak to the Demon Rakhaan

You will now need to talk to the Demon Rakhaan and he will assure you that he means you no harm but there is still more that you must do.

7) Activate the light to dispel illusionary wall

The beams that you activated previously will be connecting to an Ancient Light Device, which you will need to interact with to dispel an illusionary wall.

8) Enter the Relic Chamber

Dispel the illusionary veil to expose Overseer Kafan

Now that the illusionary wall has been dispelled, it is time for you to head into the Relic Chamber to continue with your task. (Head inside and climb down to reach the next area)

9) Dispel the illusionary veil to expose Overseer Kafan

In the next area, you will find Overseer Kafan but he cannot be attacked until you expose him, which can be done by activating the Ancient Light Braziers in the area.

Once the Ancient Light Braziers have been activated, enemies will spawn in the area, and you will need to defeat all of them.

10) Defeat Overseer Kafan

With the enemies in the area defeated, Overseer Kafan will now be exposed and you may now damage him, which eventually requires him to be slain.

12) Speak to Rakhaan

After defeating Overseer Kafan, Rakhaan will appear in his human form once more, and speaking to him will allow you to complete the quest. (Don’t forget to open the chest for loot)

More Than Meets the Eye Quest Rewards

Once you have returned to Rakhaan after sending him the Malevolent Relic, the quest will be complete and you will receive the following:

  • XP
  • Gold
  • Gem Cache
  • 30 Dry Steppes Renown

Verdict

It turns out that Kafan was both human and demon as one now inhibits him after saving him from a Charnel Pit, which is why Rakhaan is still alive.

The demon lives within Rakhaan and the two of them share his physical form, but they have no ill intentions towards you or others.

Now that Overseer Kafan has been slain, the souls in the Dry Steppes that were trapped by the relics are now free from captivity.
