After some time in Kyovashad, you will run into a small commotion where a father is worried about his son, who appears to have been possessed.
As you happened to be passing by, Sister Octavio of the Cathedral of Light has asked for your assistance in a ritual to exorcise the demon from the boy.
You will need to follow them into the cellar to assist with saving the man’s child before the demon does more damage than it already has.
How To Get Malady of the Soul Quest?
Malady of the Soul side quest may begin as soon as you see the side quest marker and will start when you speak with Sister Octavia.
Malady of the Soul Objectives
1) Enter the Frigid Cellar
Sister Octavia and the father of the boy will head into the Frigid Cellar, which is where you will need to follow to participate in the ritual.
2) Speak with Sister Octavia
Once you have entered the Frigid Cellar, speak with Sister Octavia and she will give you instructions on what to do next.
3) Place the holy chalice
Sister Octavia has instructed you to place the holy chalice, which can be done by interacting with the marked area nearby.
4) Speak with Sister Octavia
After placing the holy chalice, speak with Sister Octavia and she will begin the ritual, which later causes Carvers to appear in the cellar.
5) Slay the Carvers
Once the Carvers appear, you will need to slay all of them, which soon causes the demon Xul’goth to appear in the cellar when Sister Octavia continues the ritual.
6) Slay Xul’goth
After exorcising Xul’goth from the boy, you will need to kill the demon to permanently get rid of its presence, which completes the ritual.
7) Speak with Sister Octavia outside
Once the ritual is complete, make your way outside and speak to Sister Octavia, who will reward you for helping her with saving the boy.

After speaking with Sister Octavia outside of the Frigid Cellar, she will thank you for your help and you will be rewarded with the following:

- Gold
- 20 Fractured Peaks Renown
- Herb Cache
