ARK Ice Titan Boss (How to Summon, Fighting, Tributes, Rewards…)

The Ice Titan is usually the third titan or boss that players tend to fight in Extinction, as it is harder to face off against than the other two.

This fight takes place in the Snow Dome Biome, which challenges players with the incredibly fast and powerful Titan, wild creatures in the area as well as the cold temperature.

Appearing as a mythical creature with shards of ice and horns coming out from it, this boss is capable of dealing a lot of damage and freezing players and tames in place.

How to Summon Ice Titan?

The Ice Titan can be summoned by using tributes to begin the fight at the Ice Titan Terminal which you may find after entering the Ice Cave (20.2 – 60.6) in the Snow Dome Biome.

Ice Titan Tributes

Creatures may be in the area when you spawn the Ice Titan, so keep a lookout for additional threats that may cause trouble during the fight.

Fighting Ice Titan

During the fight, the Ice Titan will attempt to move close to you to stomp you and will also use its freezing breath attack, capable of freezing you in place.

When you are a bit further from the Ice Titan, it may attempt to leap into the air and will deal damage in an area where it lands, this should be avoided.

The Ice titan will sometimes create a mist around it which will freeze you and your tamed creatures that you’re mounted on, but you can escape by repeatedly pressing buttons.

Try to get mounts with high health and damage to attack the Ice Titan and if you can keep a good amount of distance (by using other tames to tank and attack it) you can shoot at it.

A good technique is to get sturdy creatures that deal good damage like Rexes, Therizinos, or Spinos and ride a Yutyrannosaurus to buff them.

The Ice Titan appears to have a gorilla-like body with hints of mythical creature-shaped features, horns, and ice around its upper body which resemble a sort of ice crown.

Tips

• The Snow Dome Biome alone can be a challenge for players due to the many wild and aggressive creatures in the area.
• Be sure to wear gear that can help you resist the cold temperature, you don’t want to die from the cold during the boss fight.
• Watch out for the Ice Titan’s movements and try to avoid getting stomped on when it leaps into the air, as this both closes the distance between you and can get you killed.
• The Ice Titan may sometimes become distracted and will attack other creatures in the area, to avoid this, keep its attention with more tanky tames to confront it.
