Ark Velonasaur (How to Tame, Controls, Food, Location…)

Ark Velonasaur

Velonasaurus is a carnivorous creature from the post-Holocene period that has an aggressive temperament despite being labeled “omnivore” in its dossier.

The Velonasaur is a creature of strange origin, having features similar to different dinosaurs yet seemingly appearing as a genetically modified creature due to its abilities to act as a gatling gun.

Velonasaur are usually seen roaming around in the desert biome in the Extinction Ark and attempt to attack other creatures around its size or smaller to eat.

These creatures will not attempt to attack you the moment you enter the area but will do so if you get too close or attack them first.

Tribes have used these creatures as both defensive and offensive roles, being able to fire multiple spines out of its body.

Dossier

Dossier Summary

The common area to search for Velonasaur would be in the desert areas near the abandoned city in the Extinction Ark as they are comfortable and known to survive well in such a habitat.

Some consider the Velonasaur to be a very hideous creature due to its appearance as it is full of spines but those who can look beyond this see the real use for it as these spines can be a deadly weapon that can be used against enemies.

The Velonasaur is very adept at using its spines to attack its enemies that it can either control the way it shoots them out in a gatling gun fashion or into a large spread in an area around it, making it good for close range and midrange combat.

Tamed Velonasaur have been known to be used as defenses due to the unlimited ammunition they have as these spines they shoot out can easily regenerate and seem to be an infinite source of ammunition for its biological gatling gun prowess.

How to Tame Velonasaur?

A Velonasaur moves very slowly when it is after a survivor and can be easily tamed by shooting it from afar with a tranquilizing weapon or by firing at it while repeatedly taking cover behind objects such as rocks and trees.

Another way to tame a Velonasaur is to set up a bear trap and to shoot at the creature so that it will head to your location and eventually step on the trap.

Getting cover is important as the Velonasaur will attempt to fire its spines at you which could destroy your armor or even kill you.

Overview

The Velonasaur is a very unique type of creature due to its ability to act as a mobile weapon and good line of defense for most tribes.

Many tribes attempt to utilize these creatures due to the amount of damage they can do, especially with their AOE attack which has been known to clear out groups of creatures and survivors within seconds.

This creature may be a bit fragile when it comes to fighting up close and taking damage but once given the opportunity, it can deal a lot of devastation in a mere instance.
