Flying Sparks: Tobi-Kadachi (Main Quest) in MHW

Flying Sparks: Tobi-Kadachi quest mhw

  • Quest Type: Main Quest
  • Quest Location: Ancient Forest
  • Quest Rank: 3

Having recently completed the Sinister Shadows In The Deep quest, you are soon to hunt an Anjanath that can disrupt the plans on capturing Zorah Magdaros.

A slight problem has occurred later on and the Chief Botanist needs your assistance before you can carry out hunting the Anjanath since a Tobi-Kadachi has been causing quite a ruckus.

Gathering materials to make new standard equipment for the hunters has been thwarted by a Tobi-Kadachi and the Chief Botanist needs your help to deal with it.

Objectives

Your objective is to go into the Ancient Forest and hunt down the Tobi-Kadachi so that you may stop it from hindering the gathering of important materials.

Walkthrough

When starting out this quest, a good choice for a camp would be the Northern Camp (11) as it will provide you with the advantage of finding the tracks right away and you will be near its nest.

Find the first set of tracks and follow them continuously or head where it can initially be found, sector 14.

Begin engaging the creature in combat while you’re in its nesting area but be careful as it will tend to climb up on trees and pounce on you from time to time.

Deal enough damage and the Tobi-Kadachi will attempt to flee, causing it to run to a nearby sector where it most likely will run into another monster.

If you are lucky, you will catch it on its own but if you find it with another monster you will need to either lay back or join the fray.

After one or attempts to run, the Tobi-Kadachi may be slain but if it continues to escape it will retreat to a nearby area where it can rest, giving you the advantage of ambushing it.

Quest Rewards

After you have slain the Tobi-Kadachi, the Flying Sparks Tobi-Kadachi quest will be finished which will reward you with 3240 Zenny and after speaking to the Field Team Leader, The Encroaching Anjanath quest will be available.

Additionally, the Chief Botanist will speak with you and tell you that you may now make use of the Ancient Tree for cultivation (Botanical Research Center) which later on can be upgraded further.

Tips

  • The Tobi-Kadachi may appear to be a much stronger creature than others but it is in fact more of an offensive one and can easily be defeated as long as you focus on avoiding its obvious attacks and take advantage of its recoveries.
  • When the Tobi-Kadachi clings to a surface, you can knock it off by damaging it, forcing it to be downed for a bit, allowing you to deal more damage while it tries to get back up.
  • Avoid getting hit, especially when you are affected by Thunderblight as it will cause you to easily become stunned.
