The time nears as Zorah Magdaros approaches and the attempt to capture it is at hand but there is one issue, a large one as a matter of fact.
An Anjanath lurks around and will cause quite a problem during the capturing process and it will need to be dealt with as soon as possible to prevent it from interfering in any way.
It is up to you to take care of the Anjanath while the preparations for Zorah Magdaros’ capture are being carried out.
Objectives
In order to complete this quest, you must locate and slay the Anjanath that is lurking about in the Ancient Forest.
Walkthrough
Start out by searching around a distance from your camp and search for the Anjanath’s tracks which you will then follow to find its location.
You will eventually be led to a cave where a Great Jagras will currently be engaged with the Anjanath and not doing such a good job at fighting back.
A cutscene will play which will show the brute strength of the Anjanath and soon after, you will be able to engage the monster.
Once the cutscene has finished, the Anjanath and Great Jagras will be hostile towards each other, allowing you to take advantage when the time is right.
Deal as much damage as you can and try to stay close to it to avoid losing it from sight but keep in mind that eventually it will try to escape when low on health.
Once the Anjanath runs away, follow it to the new location and repeat the process of attacking it until you deplete its health.
The Anjanath has a habit of passing by even the smallest openings, so be sure to investigate its tracks and to check where it heads.
Should you be capable of dealing excessive damage to the Anjanath, you should be able to kill it before it attempts to escape another time.
If the Anjanath manages to escape when you have dealt fatal damage to it, the monster will attempt to head to an area where it can rest which is usually in sector 13.
You will catch the creature asleep if it has had enough time to run away and may attack it freely for a brief moment which will kill it or wake it up.
Quest Rewards
Once you have successfully tracked and killed the Anjanath, you will be rewarded with 4320 Zenny and soon after you will be able to do the One For The History Books quest.
Tips
- Watch out for the fire attacks that the Anjanath can deal with and be sure to keep rolling around to put out the flames if you catch on fire.
- The Anjanath will be fighting a Great Jagras which means you can use this to your advantage and join the fight whenever you feel like doing so.
- Try to attack the Anjanath from the sides or back to avoid getting attacked easily as this will force it to have to turn towards you.
