ARK: How to Get Angler Gel

ARK Angler Gel

Judging by its name, you can pretty much guess that AnglerGel is a resource that you can obtain from an Angler.

This resource is a type of fuel (which is probably what lights up the Angler’s lantern) and allows it to be used as a substitute for other fuel.

While it burns with a different color and glow, AnglerGel is still useful and has other uses aside from being a fuel substitute.

How to Farm AnglerGel?

There are currently a few ways in which you can obtain AnglerGel, which are both related to killing specific creatures.

The Angler, which can be found deep underwater can be killed and harvested for its Angler Gel while Deathworms on Scorched Earth and other maps drop it too.

Your best bet, however, is to hunt Anglers instead as they are easier to kill and they are more plentiful as long as you have the means to head to the bottom of the ocean.

Killing corrupted creatures, such as the ones on the Extinction map has proven to provide a good amount of Angler Gel as well.

It is also possible to obtain Angler Gel through fishing but this is not always guaranteed and is not the best option.

AnglerGel Uses

Angler Gel lasts the longest when used with torches such as the Standing Torch, Wall Torch, and the Standing Torch. (causes flame of standing torch to turn blue)

Crafting and maintaining Night Vision Goggles and the Electric Prod require an amount of Angler Gel to be used.

To tame a Manta, players will have to obtain Angler Gel and equip it in their last item slot to passively tame it.

Verdict

Angler Gel is a great substitute for wood, fuel, and other sources which are needed to light fires such as a Campfire, Cooking Pot, Standing Torch, Stone Fireplace, and even a Refining Forge.

Unlike other fuel sources, Angler Gel has an extremely long burn time, making it easier to leave things lit up without having to repeatedly get more fuel.

If you intend to make use of the Electric Prod, which is good for knocking creatures and players out, it would be good to have a lot of Angler Gel for repairing.
