ARK: How to Make Gasoline

ARK Gasoline

Gasoline is one of the most important resources in Ark, especially when you’re leaving the stone age and moving towards better technology.

You will want to get a good supply of Gasoline to ensure that your base can run on electricity, as a shortage can cause problems later on.

In Ark, Gasoline is used to provide many of the newer structures that you build after you craft your Fabricator and later on Electrical Generator.

How to Make Gasoline?

Gasoline is made by placing Hide and Oil into a Refining Forge or an Industrial Forge, but there is also another variant (Gas-Crafted) which is made in the Chemistry Bench.

Gas-Crafted Gasoline is made up of a Congealed Gas Ball and Green Gem, and as mentioned earlier, can be crafted in a Chemistry Bench, which needs Gasoline to run.

It is more common for players to use Hide and Oil since these two resources are easier to get and can be obtained in large amounts.

If you have a Phoenix or Magmasaur, placing the ingredients for making Gasoline will allow you to create it due to their fiery properties.

Gasoline Uses

Gasoline can be used to power structures, crafting stations, tools, weapons, and even a Motorboat for better traveling across the water.

Structures that require Gasoline to run include:

  • Chemistry Bench
  • Electrical Generator
  • Fabricator
  • Industrial Forge
  • Industrial Grill
  • Industrial Grinder

Tools or Weapons that need Gasoline to include the following:

  • Chainsaw
  • Flamethrower (Gasoline is needed for its ammo)
  • Mining Drill
  • Zip-Line Motor Attachment

Powering Structures with Gasoline

To power structures that require Gasoline to run, you simply need to make the Gasoline and collect it once finished.

Once you have Gasoline, head over to the structure you wish to power and place an amount of it inside the structure.

A “Turn On” button should allow you to start the structure but this can be different for others, such as the Chemistry Bench which can only work if there is electricity and Gasoline present.

Verdict

You will ultimately have to start with crafting Gasoline in a Refining Forge since the Industrial Forge is quite an advancement.

Bases that require electricity will be very dependent on Gasoline and will require a good source of its resources to have a continuous supply.

Without enough Gasoline, bases protected by turrets and other electrical structures will be left vulnerable.

It’s best to always have a backup supply just in case you will need time to craft more or even gather more Hide and Oil.
