ARK: How to Get Mutagen
Mutagen is a rare and considerably expensive resource in Ark due to many creatures requiring a large number of it.
This resource was first introduced when Genesis Part 2 came out and can be obtained in a few different ways, some being easier than others.
Getting your hands on a bunch of Mutagen can make a huge difference later on when you plan on breeding creatures.
How to Farm Mutagen?
Mutagen can be farmed in several ways, one of them being delving into Rockwell’s Heart and picking the Mutagen Bulbs.
The Mutagen Bulbs will provide you with Mutagen but will also attract Summoners, which you can easily escape with Tek Armor or an Exo Federation Suit.
Another way to get Mutagen is to farm a lot of Mutagel and to craft the Mutagen in the Chemistry Bench.

Best Way to Farm Mutagen
When farming Mutagen Bulbs, it’s best to complete the Terminus mission as this will reduce the respawn time, allowing you to collect more of the resource.
The best way to farm Mutagen is to craft it after collecting a lot of Mutagel, which is best done by collecting from the asteroid area when Mutagel is present.

Verdict
As Genesis Part 2 is supposed to be a continuation from Genesis Part 1 as well as from the other maps in the game, Mutagen is needed for breeding endgame creatures.
Mutagen is a very valuable resource due to the large amounts that creatures need, especially when you plan on mass breeding.
It is best to collect Mutagel to craft Mutagen with, since a lot of Mutagel may be farmed while Mutagen is quite rare and harder to get.
