How To Get The Handcannon in RE4 Remake (The Mercenaries)

Since the release of The Mercenaries mode in the Resident Evil 4 remake, players have had the opportunity to get their hands on the Handcannon in an easier way.

This powerful weapon is a magnum that you can get early in the game as soon as you have access to your storage if you have unlocked it.

Initially, the Handcannon had to be unlocked by completing the game in Professional Mode with an A Rank but ever since the release of The Mercenaries, things have changed.

How To Get The Handcannon in The Mercenaries?

To get the Handcannon in the Mercenaries, you will need to play through the game mode and get an S+ Rank on each of the maps.

There is no specific character required, so you can use whichever character you are more comfortable with to get a good score.

You will need to get at least 200,000 points to get an S+ Rank at the end of the game mode and any rank lower will not unlock this weapon.

How to Use the Handcannon After Unlocking?

Once you have unlocked the Handcannon, you will need to purchase it in the Extra Content Shop, which can be found in the Bonuses menu after you go back to the main one.

Purchasing the Handcannon from the Extra Content Shop will cost you 2,000 CP and after you have purchased it, you will be able to get it from your storage once you are in a main story game.

There is no difficulty limit when it comes to using the Handcannon, so you can use it whenever you start any main story game and pick it up from your storage via the Typewriter.

Verdict

The Handcannon may not be the strongest magnum in the game, but it does have unlimited ammo, making it a good way to cheese your way through the game.

Having a magnum at the start of the game will make things easy for anyone and since you won’t run out of ammo, you can easily progress through the game.

This is one of the more traditional weapons from the original game and some players still remember how powerful it can be when it comes to killing enemies and even bosses.
