How To Make Basic Kibble in ARK
Sometimes you may be trying to tame one of the weaker creatures in Ark Survival Evolved but may end up waiting for quite a while if they have a higher level.
To skip the long wait and repeatedly collect berries and veggies to feed them, you can always resort to using Basic Kibble.
This type of kibble allows you to tame specific Dinos quickly to shorten the time it takes as well as to maintain better taming efficiency.
Basic Kibble Tames
Basic Kibble or Extra Small Egg kibble is used to tame most of the smaller creatures that can be found in the game but it does work on a few medium-sized ones as well.
The following creatures can be tamed effectively with Basic Kibble:
- Dilophosaur
- Dodo
- Kairuku
- Parasaur
- Phiomia
- Mesopithecus
Among all the abovementioned creatures, the Mesopithecus is the only one that can passively be tamed with Basic Kibble.

“This pet food recipe has been carefully designed to give balanced nutrition to many smaller creatures. Includes plant fibers to help with digestion and egg to bind the mix. Humans have difficulty digesting this.”
Verdict
While the creatures in Ark that are tamed with Basic Kibble are not some of the strongest, most of them do have their specific uses.
Basic Kibble becomes handy when you are going to attempt to tame a high-level Parasaur or Tek Parasaur as they can be useful for detecting enemies.
Other creatures such as the Megapithecus do have their early game uses and it is always best to have something to tame higher-level creatures faster.
