Genshin Impact Cooking Guide (How to Cook, Recipes, Ingredients & Food List)
Cooking is an important part of Genshin Impact as this allows you to create food that will help you in various ways as you go along your journey.
Various foods may provide you with health restoration, buffs and even revive your characters when they have been defeated.
With a wide variety of food in the game, there are several types that you can cook depending on which ingredients you have in stock.
Ways to Cook
There are multiple ways in which you can cook food in Genshin Impact and these make it easier for you than having to run all over the place searching for them.
1) Cooking Pots in the Wild
Sometimes you may encounter campfires out in the wild which allow you to cook when you interact with them, but you must make sure a fire is lit for them to work.
To light a fire under a cooking pot, you will simply need to use a Pyro character and light the fire using their ability or charged attack if they are ranged characters.
2) Cooking in a City
When you visit areas such as Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and more, there will usually be establishments and locations where you can cook.
You can simply interact with the cooking stoves in the area to begin cooking food, which does not cost anything at all except the ingredients you use to cook.
3) Adepti Seeker’s Stove
The Adepti Seeker’s Stove is a gadget that can be used anywhere, creating a portable cooking stove that you can use to cook.
The Diagram: Adepti Seeker’s Stove is a blueprint for this item obtained in Liyue as a reward for reaching Reputation Level 5.
How to Get Recipes?
Recipes are items in Genshin Impact that can be obtained in various ways and once you have obtained them, you may learn them.
Once a Recipe has been learned, it will unlock a specific type of food which will now appear when you are going to cook.
The following are ways to obtain Recipes in Genshin Impact:
- Completing Quests
- Completing Domains
- Increasing Reputation Level in different cities
- Opening Chests in the wild
- Purchasing from shops
How To Cook in Genshin Impact?
To cook, you must first find a cooking station such as a campfire or stove and once you interact with it (should be lit up) the cooking menu opens.
You will be able to pick the food that you want to cook from a list and the dishes that you have ingredients for will be shown.
For recipes that you do not have ingredients for, their images will be shaded darker to show you that you have insufficient cooking ingredients.
Pick the dish that you wish to cook, and you may choose to manually cook it or to have it automatically cooked if you have reached the max proficiency for it.
Cooking manually will require that you do a quick mini-game where you need to stop a pointer at the right time to avoid burning the dish.
Food Quality
As you are cooking, there will be a meter shown where there will be a grey outer area, a yellow area following, and an inner orange area.
Stopping the pointer in the grey area will result in a Suspicious Dish, which has the lowest effects when the food is cooked.
When the pointer is stopped in the yellow area, the food will come out as a Regular Dish with normal effects, which is not that bad.
If you can stop the pointer in the center of the outline, this will end up creating a “Delicious” dish, providing it with better effects.
Cooking Proficiency
Cooking proficiency determines how well you can cook a certain food and is counted as the number of times you have cooked it to reach mastering the dish.
You will see how many times you need to craft a certain dish before it is mastered and afterward, you can cook the dish automatically.
This will allow you to cook food items in bulk and save you the time of having to go through the cooking mini-game.
How to Get Cooking Ingredients?
When it comes to cooking, you will need to make sure that you have all the ingredients necessary to prepare a certain dish.
This means that you should obtain the required ingredients to cook as many dishes as you want because these are consumed after cooking.
The following are ways in which you may obtain cooking ingredients in Genshin Impact:
- Picking up ingredients out in the wild
- Obtaining ingredients from crates and barrels
- Purchasing ingredients from vendors
How To Process Ingredients?
Certain ingredients may only be obtained by processing them, which can be done in any cooking station you find in the game.
You can process the ingredients in batches, and this will take time, but you can always return to them later once they are complete.
Ingredients that you process may be obtained at any cooking station, which means you don’t have to return to the same one to pick up the ingredients.
