The Barrow-Dyad has gained popularity due to its Panic Response Intrinsic Trait as well as the stats that it has, especially when upgraded.
What makes the weapon even better is the choice between different traits after obtaining its Catalysts and one of these is the Target Lock Refit.
The Target Lock Refit allows the Barrow-Dyad to deal more damage to an enemy that you are focusing your damage on, making it effective against tougher enemies.
How To Get Barrow-Dyad Target Lock Refit Catalyst?
Completing the Exotic Quest called A Silken Path will reward you with the Target Lock Refit, which requires you to complete 2 Quest Steps.
Once you have equipped the Barrow-Dyad with the Target Lock Refit, you will be able to deal more damage as you focus on the same target.
Target Lock Refit causes the Barrow-Dyad to gain an increase in damage the longer it remains on a target.
How To Get A Silken Path Quest?
A Silken Path is obtained by bringing the Warped Osseous Spine to the Shaping Slab, where it can be traded for the Exotic Quest.
The Warped Osseous Spine is obtained by opening a chest that is accessible after interacting with the Crossed Blades Tithe.
How To Get Warped Osseous Spine?
To get the Warped Osseous Spine, you will need to head to the Hull Breach area in The Nether activity and search for the doorway with the Crossed Blades Tithe.
This can be found on the other side of the large rock formation with runes on them but it may be tricky to spot at a distance.
Once you are inside, you will need to interact with the Crossed Blades Tithe and be worthy to access it.
To become worthy, you will need to obtain the Coalescence of the Knife collectibles, which drop from the following:
- Vengeance Missions (High chance reported for Blade Logic)
- Hidden Rune Chest found in The Founts
- Hidden Cabal Chest found in Hull Breach

Once you are worthy and interact with the Crossed Blades Tithe, a portal will be opened, and entering it will bring you to a small room.
Within the room will be two chests and one of them will contain the Warped Osseous Spine along with other loot.
A Silken Path Quest Walkthrough
Step 1: Collect all of the Ravenous Wormspawn
There are 10 Ravenous Wormspawns located within The Nether and these are scattered throughout the different areas.
Each location in The Nether has 2 Ravenous Wormspawn and to find them, you must be on the Path of Resolve or they won’t appear.
For a guide on all the locations of the Ravenous Wormspawns, check out our guide below:
Step 2: Complete Exotic Mission “Derealize” with the Barrow-Dyad Submachine Gun equipped
You most likely already completed the Derealize Exotic Mission and this time, you need to do it while having the Barrow-Dyad equipped.
This doesn’t mean that you need to use the weapon throughout the whole mission though as you can simply equip it before you get the mission rewards.
The mission rewards will come shortly after the chest appears at the end or when you open it and this gives you enough time to equip the Barrow-Dyad to make it count.
After completing the Derealize Exotic Mission with the Barrow-Dyad equipped, the quest will be complete and you will be rewarded with the Target Lock Refit Catalyst.
Verdict
The Barrow-Dyad deals a decent amount of damage when you make use of its normal shots and the Panic Response projectiles.
Adding the Target Lock Refit works when you plan on targeting one enemy at a time as focusing on targets longer should increase the amount of damage you deal.
Depending on your build, there will be other ways to increase Strand Damage, which is the type of damage dealt by the Barrow-Dyad.
