The Path of Heresy introduced the Shaping Slab, in which Guardian needs to increase their Reputation Rank to become stronger and obtain rewards.
The thing is, there are two different paths that you can take and each of them has its own Reputation Rank and rewards for you to work on.
To make things easy, we have prepared this guide to get you on track on how to increase your Reputation Rank as well as how to do it quickly.
How To Switch Shaping Slab Paths?
Depending on what path you are on with the Shaping Slab, you will be able to obtain a reputation only for the active one.
If you want to switch from the Path of Resolve to the Path of Ambition or vice versa, you simply need to interact with the orb near the Shaping Slab.
How To Level Up Shaping Slab Reputation?
Your Reputation Rank for a path will increase when you obtain Taken Mastery, which is obtained by doing the following:
1) The Nether Activity
While in The Nether, there are different ways for you to obtain Taken Mastery and the main method that provides the best results is to complete sections and defeat bosses.
Each run of The Nether will provide you with 3 different sections that you can complete, which will provide you with Taken Mastery at the end of each one.
Running The Nether on a higher difficulty will result in you obtaining more Taken Mastery but this will also make it more challenging.
2) Turning in Metastasized Essentia
At Eris Morn’s Apartment or during the Court of Blades activity, there will be a Taken Altar that you may interact with to trade Metastasized Essentia for rewards.
Doing this will provide you with loot as well as 200 Taken Mastery at the cost of 10 Metastasized Essentia.
When in the Court of Blades, there is a chance that the cost of Metastasized Essentia will be reduced depending on how well you progress through the activity.
3) Destroying Sigil Stones (Path of Resolve)
Defeating enemies while on the Path of Resolve gives a chance to cause a Sigil Stone to be dropped, which can be destroyed to produce Sigil Shards.
Picking up Sigil Shards will provide you with Taken Mastery, which gets you 5 Taken Mastery for each one that you pick up. (Destroying Sigil Stone creates 3 shards)
Once you reach Rank 15 with the Path of Resolve, you can unlock the Shards of Power Path Mastery, which provides you with a chance to obtain more Sigil Shards.
4) Consuming Sigil Stones (Path Of Ambition)
While on the Path of Ambition, defeating enemies may result in a different variant of Sigil Stone being dropped, which you may interact with to consume.
This will provide you with 20 Taken Mastery but instead of Sigil Shards, it will provide you with Essence of Desire instead.
Reaching Rank 15 with the Path of Ambition will allow you to unlock the Overflowing Desire Path Mastery, which provides you with a chance to get more Essence of Desire.
Shaping Slab Fastest Way To Rank Up Reputation
To put things plain and simple, the fastest way for you to level up your Reputation Rank would be to do several runs of The Nether.
Doing runs on Expert Difficulty can boost the reputation that you get but it is advisable to have a Fireteam to speed things up.
While doing The Nether, make sure to consume/destroy Sigil Shards to get extra Taken Mastery and farm Metastasized Essentia.
You can later use the Metastasized Essentia at Eris Morn’s Apartment or make the most of them in the Court Of Blades activity. (Spend 5 instead of 10 sometimes)
Verdict
Doing The Nether solo may be a guaranteed way to make the most out of your available lives, but this can take a lot of time, which makes it best to be with a fireteam.
The faster you can complete a run of The Nether, the faster you will be able to increase your Reputation Rank, so make sure to equip your best gear for the activity.
Make sure to switch over to the path that you want to gain reputation for as each one has its Reputation Rank as well as a type of Sigil Stones.
