After obtaining several Taken Osseous Fragments and tracking down a source of Mysterious Taken power, you attempt to seize it for your own.
This takes you aboard the Dreadnaught once more but enemy forces will be in your path, which requires you to fight your way through them.
During this Exotic Mission, you will be able to stumble upon the Exotic Submachine Gun known as the Barrow-Dyad and encounter an ancient enemy hidden within the Dreadnaught.
How To Get Derealize Mission?
The Derealize Exotic Mission is available after you have reached Quest Step 6 of The Taken Path, which will allow you to complete the quest.
After you have completed Derealize for the first time, it may be repeated afterward for those who wish to farm more rewards.
You may start the Derealize Exotic Mission by opening destinations and selecting The Last City as it will be located near the other Episode: Heresy Activities. (The Nether Activities)
Derealize Walkthrough
Once the mission starts, you will find yourself in the Mausoleum and will be met by Vrhissk, Seeker of Power along with other combatants that you will need to fight your way past.
You will need to fight the enemies as you proceed making your way further through the Mausoleum but will need to watch out for the large Taken Eyes that apply Suffocating Terror.
Make sure you don’t let Suffocating Terror stack up to 17 or this will cause your health to start dropping and you can wait it out by taking cover.
Fight your way through the waves of enemies and the Taken Eye will disappear, allowing you to proceed to the next area and this needs to be done 3 times.
You can proceed to the next areas after defeating the Tormentors that appear, which will cause the Taken Eyes to vanish after they are defeated. (Head into the portal at the end afterward)
Eventually, you will arrive at the Trenchway and will need to pursue the Dread Commander (Vhriisk) by heading to the next waypoint and fighting past the enemies there.
After reaching the Dread Commander, you will need to damage its health until a portion has been taken out and he will become immune to damage.
You will need to defeat the Blight Sentinels and Empower the Curse before you can start damaging the Dread Commander again.
The Curse will appear once the Blight Sentinels have been defeated and you will need to interact with it to use Taken Power to defeat enemies.
Once you have defeated enough enemies, there will be Taken Blights that you need to interact with, which will cause the Dread Commander to become vulnerable again.
Repeat the steps of damaging the Dread Commander, Empowering the Curse, and Destroying the Taken Blights until you are teleported into an enclosed area with the Dread Commander.
Continue fighting the Dread Commander within the enclosed area until you have finally defeated him but be careful, other combatants will spawn in the area.
You can easily defeat him here by taking out the other combatants and using the pillars in the area as cover from his attacks.
After the Dread Commander has been defeated, the objective will change to “NO ESCAPE” as you are now trapped inside of the Ascendant Plane.
To escape the Ascendant Plane and the other areas that you are teleported to, you will need to solve a puzzle that involves the plats on the ground and the discs with glyphs.
You will need to stand on the plates and face the discs to reveal the glyphs on them as each room will have a glyph.
Above the discs will be a set of glyphs that need to be activated in the exact order, which requires you to watch carefully for which one appears.
If the glyph in the room appears to be the next one in the order of glyphs above the disc, walk in the direction the plate on the ground is pointing to.
Repeat this until all of the glyphs above the disc have disappeared and you will be brought out of the NO ESCAPE puzzle. (If the symbol in the room does not match, wait until you are teleported)
Once you are out of the puzzle rooms, you will need to collect the Corrupted Fragment, which may be reached by jumping across the platforms in the Trenchway. (This is where you will be)
After taking the Corrupted Fragment, there will be a small opening that you may enter and you will need to slide down into the next area.
Upon reaching the bottom, you will be in the Invasion Bay, where you will need to jump up and make your way towards an exit found in the wall.
Continue traveling to the next area after reaching the hole in the wall and make your way to the other side, which will allow you to travel across to the next area that is blocked by a barrier.
This requires you to go through another hole and continue climbing until you reach the next side and you will need to be careful not to fall or you will die.
The path will be blocked off and to remove the barrier, you will need to search for the 3 crystals that need to be destroyed. (2 crystals on one inner wall and 1 crystal across the gap in another)
Proceed with climbing out of the last area until you reach a large gate, which is where the Barrow-Dyad may be found.
Approach the Barrow-Dyad (Artifact) and interact with it to obtain the Exotic Submachine Gun, which will be available if this is your first run.
After taking the Barrow-Dyad, the objective will change to “Do What You Must” which also causes you to become Torn Between Dimensions. (Destroy the Taken Orbs nearby)
Once the Taken Orbs have been destroyed, Xir-Kuur, Not-Taken will appear and you will need to fight him until a portion of his health disappears.
Depleting a portion of Xir-Kuur’s health will cause you to become Torn Between Dimensions again where you will now have to face the Taken version of Xir-Kuur.
Fight Xir-Kuur, Taken until a portion of his health has been depleted and afterwards, you will need to destroy the Taken Orbs in the area. (Repeat this until all of his health is depleted)
Once Xir-Kuur (Taken) is down to his last bar of health, he will become even stronger and your only choice is to seal him inside of the Anteroom.
Head for the exit stand in the ritual circle and stay alive until the chamber is sealed, which will imprison the Taken entity within it.
After trapping Xir-Kuur inside the antechamber, claim your rewards by opening the chest that spawns, and this and the mission will come to an end.
Derealize Mission Rewards
After fighting Xir-Kuur and sealing him within the antechamber, collecting the chest will complete the mission and you will obtain rewards from both the chest and the mission ending.
From the chest, you will receive 100 Taken Mastery and an item that you may turn in at the Shaping Slab to obtain the Dyadic Ascension Exotic Quest.
Rewards for the mission being completed may include Reagents that you may use for crafting tonics at the Tonic Laboratory.
Summary
The Taken Entity that had been sealed away in the past was revealed to be Xir-Kuur but defeating him proved to be too difficult as he was too powerful.
In the end, you sealed the Taken Entity within the antechamber and hopefully, he does not escape from it anytime soon.
You now have the Barrow-Dyad and may now obtain the Dyadic Ascension Quest to further improve the Exotic Submachine Gun.
