Nightcap is a newly introduced NPC in the Vallis Undermind update, found in his own distinct area within Fortuna, surrounded by remnants of his fungal experiments.
Players can interact with Nightcap to browse his wares, access the Field Guide, and take on Undermine Bounties that expand the narrative of the Vallis.
Using the newly added currency known as Fergolyte, players can purchase a variety of unique rewards and progress through the deeper mysteries surrounding Nightcap’s role in Fortuna.
Where To Find Nightcap?
Nightcap can be found in The Airlock within Fortuna, situated in a small, secluded area that reflects his connection to the fungal life beneath the Vallis surface.
Once you are in Fortuna you can find the entrance to The Airlock at the end of the opposite side of the Fortuna gate, or you may simply fast travel to him.

1) Browse Wares
Players can purchase a variety of new items from Nightcap, most of which were introduced alongside The Vallis Undermind update to expand Fortuna’s offerings.
His wares include blueprints for Nokko, Arbucep, multiple mushroom species, and several other unique items, all of which can be obtained using Fergolyte as currency.

Much like Nightcap’s standard wares, these decorations require Fergolyte for purchase and can later be placed as custom ornaments to personalize player spaces.

3) Field Guide
The Field Guide serves as your central hub for studying and analyzing the various mushroom species you’ve collected throughout your exploration of the Vallis.
Within this menu, players can analyze mushrooms up to specific ranks, each analysis contributing experience toward their overall standing with Nightcap.
Fully analyzing more mushroom species increases your rank with Nightcap, unlocking additional tiers of rewards and exclusive items from his wares.
4) Deepmines Bounties
Similar to bounties in other locations, the Deepmines Bounties provides you with a way to obtain loot tied to The Vallis Undermind update.
It is here that you will also be able to obtain Mushroom Samples that can be analyzed to increase your Nightcap Rank, allowing you to purchase more items with Fergolyte.
Deepmines Bounties also have a chance to reward you with blueprints for Nokko and Arbucept, which is an alternative to purchasing them.

Nightcap Reputation
Nightcap Reputation is not directly mentioned, and instead, the way to increase your rank depends mainly on how many species of mushrooms you have fully analyzed.
As your Nightcap Reputation or Nightcap Rank increases, you will gain access to more items that may be purchased from the “Browse Wares” menu.
How To Increase Nightcap Rank?
To increase your Nightcap Rank, you will need to obtain Mushroom Samples by collecting them in Deepmines Bounties.
These may later be analyzed when you open the Field Guide menu after speaking to Nightcap, where you have the option to choose from those you have sufficient samples.
Once a species of mushroom has enough samples, you may choose to analyze them to increase your rank with a certain species that consumes them.

When it comes to Nightcap, there is no standing that needs to be earned, which is used to make purchases, and instead, you need Fergolyte.
Fergolyte is a resource and currency that is used to make purchases from Nightcap, which can be obtained from the Deepmines Bounties.
