The Prince is a mysterious NPC found within The Airlock in Fortuna, standing out as a small and curious figure that immediately draws a player’s attention.
Upon interacting with The Prince, players can feed it Fergolyte, which will later allow them to unlock different stem paths that influence its development and growth.
Once you have unlocked the Stem Paths, these may be accessed to reveal the history between Nightcap and Nokko, revealing a tragic tale of loyalty that transpired.
How To Unlock Stem Paths?
The Prince has three Stem Paths that may be unlocked by feeding it Fergolyte, which will allow you to access them to view its memories.
The following Stem Paths are unlocked by feeding The Prince Fergolyte:
- Purple Stem Path – 20 Fergolyte
- Blue Stem Path – 40 Fergolyte
- Green Stem Path – 60 Fergolyte
Unlocking all Stem Paths requires a total of 120 Fergolyte.
What Are Stem Paths?
Stem Paths act as short memories that you can access from The Prince, which puts you in the footsteps of a little Sprodling that travels through a space full of memories.
As you progress through the different areas, unclear scenes with voices can be heard, and putting this together reveals what happens at certain times.
By traversing through all of the Stem Paths, the history between Nightcap and Nokko will be revealed, providing somewhat of an explanation of how things came to be in the Undermines.
All Stem Paths
1) Purple Stem Path
The Purple Stem Path follows Nightcap during his time serving Nef Anyo, carrying out orders to destroy the fungal growths spreading beneath the frozen expanse of the Vallis.
He and his fellow Solaris workers believe these fungi are remnants of an Orokin experiment that went terribly wrong, justifying their actions as part of the Corpus agenda.
Their mission takes an unexpected turn when they encounter a mysterious child hiding deep within the mines, a figure who repeatedly sabotages their machinery and efforts.
2) Blue Stem Path
In the Blue Stem Path, Nightcap’s encounters with the strange child evolve into a genuine connection, prompting him to name the boy Nokko, short for “No Corporate.”
Through his growing attachment, Nightcap discovers the fungi are essential to Venus’s stability, feeding on waste from the planet’s cooling systems to prevent catastrophic overheating.
Realizing the truth and rejecting Nef Anyo’s destructive motives, Nightcap shuts down the elevator to the Deepmines, sealing off access and protecting Nokko’s home from exploitation.
3) Green Stem Path
The Green Stem Path reveals Nokko’s true nature as an extension of the Vallis fungi, existing to safeguard the balance between the surface and the depths below.
Outraged by Nightcap’s defiance, Nef Anyo deploys Corpus troops to breach the mines, forcing Nightcap to destroy the shaft and trap himself underground.
As his condition worsens, Nightcap accepts his fate, choosing to remain with Nokko until the end, leaving behind a quiet legacy within the living fungi of the Vallis.
The Prince Rewards
After exploring the Green Stem Path, you will be rewarded with a Cheeky Sprodling Glyph and a Cheeky Sprodling Emblem.
Verdict
Feeding The Prince Fergolyte offers players a unique opportunity to experience a deeper side of Warframe’s lore, especially tied to the Vallis Undermind update.
Fergolyte itself is not particularly difficult to obtain, as it serves as a guaranteed reward for completing Deepmines Bounties alongside various other valuable resources.
With a total of 120 Fergolyte, players can unlock every available Stem Path, granting complete access to The Prince’s haunting memories and the story of Nightcap and Nokko.
