Both fishing for Pals and Salvage are features that were added to Palworld when the Tides of Terraria update was released.
To get the best of both worlds with these features, you can make use of a structure that was added during the update, which allows you to catch Pals and obtain items.
The best thing about it is that you don’t have to do the fishing, and instead, Pals that work at your base may take on the task of doing this for you.
How To Unlock Fishing Pond?
The Fishing Pond can be unlocked once your level reaches 31, and you will need 3 Technology Points to purchase it from the Technology Menu.
Once the Fishing Pond has been unlocked, you will be able to select it from the Production Tab of your Build Menu.
Building the Fishing Pond will cost you the following resources:
- 40 Wood
- 5 Cement
- 10 Pal Fluids
How To Use Fishing Pond?
To start catching Pals and obtaining items with a Fishing Pond, you will first need to select either the Small Fish Shadow or the Large Fish Shadow options when you open its menu.
Open the menu by interacting with the Fishing Pond, and depending on what you choose, the Pals that are caught will be different, as well as the items that you may collect later. (Bait Required)
Once a type of Fish Shadow has been selected, Pals that have the Handiwork Work Suitability will begin to work at the Fishing Pond if they have no other tasks. (You can manually assign a Pal, too)
You can check the progress of the Fishing Pond by facing it, which will show a count of how many catches have been made at the Fishing Pond. (Maximum of 10)
If there have been successful catches (which happen over time based on the Pal’s Handiwork skill), you may collect the Pals and items separately by interacting with the container on the deck.
Pal Fishing Speed
The Fishing Speed for Pals that are working at a Fishing Pond is based on their Handiwork Skill, which determines how long it takes for them to provide Fishing Pond Rewards.
The higher the Handiwork Skill, the less time it will take to produce rewards, making it a good idea to use Pals that have a high level of the skill or even condensed Pals.
Collecting Pals
When you face the container that looks like a Cooler, you will have you collect all of the Pals that were obtained at the Fishing Pond.
The Pals that you obtain will be different from time to time, as they are randomly selected from the possible outcomes. (Shown when you select the Fish Shadows)
Fishing Pond Pals
The Fishing Pond will allow you to choose either Small Fish Shadow or Medium Fish Shadow, which determines the Pals that can be caught.
Small Fish Shadow
- Penking
- Killamari
- Azurobe
- Jelliette
- Turtacle
- Jellroy
- Celaray
- Pengullet
- Kelpsea
- Croajiro
- Fuack
Medium Fish Shadow
- Munchill
- Finsider
- Surfent Terra
- Kelpsea Ignis
- Fuack Ignis
- Killamari Primo
- Pengullet Lux
- Polapup
- Celaray Lux
- Surfent
Collecting Items
Choosing to collect items, which can be done at the side of the Fishing Pond as well, will open up the inventory of the Fishing Pond.
This will allow you to see the items that have been obtained while fishing has been done, allowing you to take the items that you want.
Fishing Pond Drops
The Fishing Pond Drop Table may vary based on the location where the actual Fishing Pond is built, mainly the type of biome or location.
The more difficult the location where your base is, the higher the quality of loot that you may obtain as rewards when collecting items from fishing.
The following types of loot include, but are not limited to the following:
- Pal Souls
- Keys
- Spheres
- Medical Supplies
- Recovery Meds
- Gold
- Ammo
- Spheres
- Fishing Rod Schematics
- Training Manuals
- Valuables
- Support Whistles or Acceleration Bell
- High Quality Pal Oil
- Coralum Ore
Verdict
The Fishing Pond is a great way for you to obtain various Water Pals that are hard to come by and obtain materials along the way. (Including Technical Manuals)
Each Fishing Pond allows you to have a maximum of 10 catches set at a time, where each will cost you a certain amount of bait to “produce” the outcome. (Pals and items)
Pals that have a higher level in Handiwork will be able to work much faster at a Fishing Pond, and you can have multiple of these at your base.
