When the Tides of Terraria update came out, some of the strangest Pals began to emerge, and one of them is called Finsider.
This Pal appears to be another Pal within a costume, as you can see a pair of eyes gazing out, but this is just another strange thing about it.
For some reason, having this Pal around can be beneficial to those who have a lot of weaponry on them, allowing its owner to carry more with less of a burden.
Finsider Location Map
You will often be able to catch Finsider through fishing, which is best done around the Dessicated Dunes, as several Fishing Spots in this area have a chance to have this Pal.
Roaming around the shores of the Dessicated Dunes as well as checking the bodies of water within the island will often have this Pal available among the Fish Shadows.
Finsider can also be caught by fishing in the following areas:
- Isle of Decayed Treasures
- Eternal Summer Isle
- Mount Obsidian (Ruined Fortress City)
It is possible to obtain Finsider from a Fishing Pond that has been built in your base. (Medium Fish Shadow)
Finsider Uses
Finsider may not have several work skills to have it utilized for your base, but if you do need a Pal with Watering, it can always be used as a temporary option.
When fighting alongside Finsider, it can be a useful Pal to have when facing Fire Pals since it mainly learns Water Active Skills.
Having Finsider with you while you are exploring can be useful if you tend to carry several weapons in your inventory, as its Partner Skill helps reduce their weight.

Finsider helps by carrying supplies when it is in your team, and this mainly affects the weight of the weapons that you have in your inventory.
Players who carry multiple weapons with them will not be overburdened that often, allowing them to carry more items while every weapon they have has reduced weight.

When assigned to a base, Finsider can help out with either Watering plantations or may be assigned to other structures that require Water Pals and will occasionally transport items.

Verdict
While Finsider may not have that many uses in a base, its ability to take on tasks that require Watering makes it useful until you can get better Pals to handle them.
Finsider will learn more Water Active Skills as it levels up, making it a good choice if you need a Water Pal to fight alongside you and if you want to utilize its Partner Skill.
If you happen to be carrying extra weapons that you use from time to time, having Finsider with you may be a good choice when it comes to exploring and farming items.
