With fishing introduced in Palworld in the Tides of Terraria update, you will eventually realize that catching Pals with a rod can sometimes be challenging.
This is where the Intermediate Fishing Rod comes in, being a replacement for the Beginner Fishing Rod, and will make catching Pals a bit easier.
Obtaining the materials needed for this fishing rod is not that difficult, and you can unlock it after a bit of progression with your character.
How To Unlock and Craft Intermediate Fishing Rod?
The Intermediate Fishing Rod can be unlocked once your character has reached Level 29 and will require 2 Technology Points.
Once you have unlocked the Intermediate Fishing Rod, you may craft it at a Production Assembly Line or a better crafting station.
The following materials are required to craft the Intermediate Fishing Rod:
- 30 Paldium Fragment
- 10 High Quality Pal Oil
- 10 Cement
- 30 Fiber
How To Use Intermediate Fishing Rod?
Once you have crafted the Intermediate Fishing Rod, you may use it similarly to how you would equip any weapon or tool.
Equip the Intermediate Fishing Rod into one of your equipment slots, and you will be able to swap to it since you can have 4 different items equipped.
After swapping to the rod, you may aim and cast your line, but make sure you have bait, or else you won’t be able to catch Pals with it.
Intermediate Fishing Rod Effects
The Intermediate Fishing Rod has been designed to catch Pals, and this makes it less of a struggle when it comes to the fishing minigame that starts.
You may notice that it becomes much easier to trace the fish with the bar in the minigame, and the decrease in progress is slower.
While this is not the best upgrade, it is still a better version than the Beginner Fishing Rod, and you will eventually notice the difference.
Cattiva Intermediate Fishing Rod
The Intermediate Fishing Rod (Cattiva) is the original variant of this fishing rod, which provides you with a 1.3x increase in the size of the bar.
You will get this rod after unlocking and crafting the Immediate Fishing Rod at any available Production Assembly Line or better.
Croajiro Intermediate Fishing Rod
A Croajiro variant of the Intermediate Fishing Rod can be obtained by first getting your hands on its blueprint, which can be done by fishing for salvage.
The Intermediate Fishing Rod (Croajiro) further increases the size of the bar during the fishing minigame, giving it a 1.4x increase in size.
Verdict
While the increase in performance when it comes to fishing may not be a huge leap with the Intermediate Fishing Rod, it is still useful.
Eventually, you will want to upgrade to a better fishing rod for catching fish, but it should do the trick until you unlock the Advanced Fishing Rod.
Keep in mind that the better your bait is, the easier it will be to catch Pals, despite which rod you are using for fishing.
