Exploring the Palpagos Islands can take up a lot of time and if you happen to have items that expire after a certain duration, this can be a terrible loss.
Thanks to the Tides of Terraria update, a Pal called Munchill is now a viable solution for keeping your items intact over an extended period of time.
Not only does this Pal have its uses when it comes to exploration, it can also be a useful Pal to fight alongside if you put in some effort to level it up.
Munchill Location Map
Munchill can be caught by fishing in some of the Fishing Spots found around Feybreak Island, which are mainly around the Frozen Coral Hill.
Exploring this southern part of Feybreak Island will allow you to find bodies of water in some of the locations within it, while other areas near the shore also have Fishing Spots.
Other areas where Munchill can appear are the following:
- Land of Absolute Zero
- Isle of the Glacial Core
Munchill Uses
Munchill can be utilized as a Pal that can fight with both Water and Ice Active Skills, but it may not be the most durable of Pals to have on your team until leveled up and condensed.
Assigning Munchill to a base will have it work on either Water Pal or Ice Pal structures, and it can also move items that it finds on the ground to nearby containers.
When it comes to exploring and farming, Munchill can be useful as its Partner Skill will help prevent your food or ingredients from expiring quickly.

While you have Munchill in your team, this Pal will cool the ingredients that you have inside its mouth, which prevents the food that you have in your inventory from quickly spoiling.
This allows Munchill to act as a personal Cooler for the food or items that you have, which will increase the time it takes before they expire.

Munchill will provide Cooling to structures that require Ice Pals when assigned to your base, and it can also work at structures that require a Water Pal. (It also transports items if it finds any)

Verdict
Munchill may not be the sturdiest of Pals, but it is a good option for those who tend to explore, especially if you don’t want to lose items due to expiration.
There may be times when a Munchill with a high level that is also condensed may prove to be a powerful ally, especially with a combination of Water and Ice Active Skills.
Munchill’s Partner Skill will take effect regardless of whether the Pal is summoned, as it only needs to remain in your party to preserve your items.
