You will need to head to the Wildspire Waste and hunt down the Rathian in order to secure safe passage to the samples below its nest.

Quest Info

  • Quest Type: Hunting Quest
  • Objective: Hunt a Rathian
  • Quest Giver: Laid-Back Botanist (Quest Board)

Other Monsters:

  • Apceros
  • Gajau
  • Kestodon
  • Noios

The Rathian can usually be found in Sector 2 or Sector 3 which makes starting out in Southwest Camp (1) a good way to begin.

Head over to Sector 3 or follow the scoutflies until you cross paths with the Rathian and attack it as soon as you can.

Once you have dealt enough damage to the Rathian, it will attempt to flee the area and may head to Sector 12 where it will try to rest.

Follow after the Rathian and kill it once and for all to finish the quest.

Quest Rewards

After you have killed the Rathian, the Royal Relocation quest will be complete and you will receive 4,320 Zenny as a reward.

The following cultivation items will be unlocked after the quest has been finished:

  • Baitbug
  • Chillshroom
  • Devil’s Blight
  • Exciteshroom
  • Flashbug
  • Godbug
  • Mandragora
  • Nitroshroom
  • Parashroom
  • Spider Web
  • Thunderbug
  • Toadstool

  • While the Rathian tends to fly around at times, it is bound to land and will be easy to track once it does, making it vital to follow its tracks as early as possible.
  • Not only is the Rathian capable of setting you on fire, it can also poison you, so keep in mind that you need to roll by dodging to put out the fire and Antidote for the poison.
  • The best place to search for the Rathian is in the swamp area north of Sector 1 as this is closest to its natural habitat.
