The Old Peace is a main quest added to Warframe on December 10, 2025, introducing a story-driven experience that dives into the game’s rich lore.
The quest has the Operator relive their past using the Dark Refractory, uncovering critical moments from the Old War and their time at Tauron Academy.
Players explore moments of uneasy peace between the Orokin and Sentients while confronting the rebellious Anarch faction and pivotal conflicts in the Origin System.
How To Unlock The Old Peace Quest?
To start The Old Peace, players must first complete the main quest The Lotus Eaters, which serves as the story prerequisite for this new adventure.
Once eligible, the quest can be started from the Codex, but you must begin at the Navigation console to proceed, and it cannot be started if your Backroom is set as your Base of Operations.
The Old Peace Missions
Hide and Seek
The Operator finds a Lotus-like flower and reconnects with Adis, triggering a memory with a massive Sentient combat platform testing their abilities.
Pulled back by Loid and the Lotus, the Operator is warned about flooded memories but insists on continuing to locate Albrecht Entrati.
Down the Rabbit Hole
The Operator and Adis arrive at Tauron Academy, recalling their time as students learning the Tenno ways during the Orokin-Sentient treaty.
Their reflections are interrupted by Anarch attacks, showing how past alliances and betrayals influence the present conflict and set the stakes for the mission.
Back to the Front
The Operator witnesses chaos as the Anarchs disrupt peace, and Xenoflora allows Sentients to regain individuality, revealing moral complexity in the war.
Through the conflict, personal bonds with Adis show how friendship and loyalty shape survival and affect larger events unfolding in Tau.
Too Far!
The Operator glimpses future events out of sequence, prompting Loid to warn them about the dangers of moving too far ahead in memory.
Returning to Tauron Academy, the Operator reconciles with Adis and begins to understand Galastra’s intentions while learning the consequences of their actions.
Interrogation
The Operator tracks the Anarch Liberator Lustratus, learning that Galastra manipulates Sentients and aims to disrupt the fragile treaty in the Tau system.
This section emphasizes the Operator’s role as investigator, showing that gathering intelligence and understanding enemies is as important as confrontation.
Fallen From Heaven
The Operator and Adis race to the destroyed Orokin shuttle, discovering one of the Orokin Seven Executors and uncovering Ballas’ manipulations.
The mission highlights political intrigue and betrayal, showing how historical figures continue to influence current conflicts and the Operator’s role in maintaining balance.
Peace in His Hands
Itzam warns the Operator not to confront Ballas directly, explaining that he holds the remaining hope for peace while Galastra expands her influence.
The Operator learns about the fragile balance of power and the weight of choices as they observe leaders navigating manipulation and unrest.
Eden’s Ultimatum
The Operator reaches the Tauron Graduation site, Tohk-Amn, and encounters Adis and Amar, witnessing a blessing ceremony interrupted by Anarch-bred Grineer attacks.
Even as allies are endangered, the Operator begins to understand the stakes of intervention and the delicate trust required to protect Xenoflora.
Down the Rabbit Hole
The Operator and Adis replay Ayatan messages, learning Margulis commands Galastra’s death and that Executor Nitokh aids her, revealing deeper layers of deception.
The duo is tasked with taking the Ayatan to the Anarch base at the Zariman, preparing to confront both Galastra and treachery in the system.
Assault on Zariman Five-Nine
The Operator deploys to the World-Seeder, battling enemies while facing Murmur attacks that threaten to destabilize their mind during the mission.
Even as chaos erupts, the Operator carefully installs the Ayatan’s self-destruct codes, discovering that Ballas has tampered with their plan for his own ends.
Battle of the Last Bloom
The Hunhullus’ last health bar falls, revealing the consequences of Galastra’s actions, while the Operator realizes they and Adis are blamed for the fallout.
Adis sacrifices himself to heal the Operator, demonstrating the enduring strength of their bond, leaving the Operator to confront loss, responsibility, and lingering threats.
The Long March Forward
The Operator solemnly roams Perita, witnessing the ruins of war and reflecting on the cost of peace, before confronting Uriel through Transference.
The moment reinforces the consequences of conflict, highlighting the emotional weight of memory, loyalty, and the Operator’s duty amidst the remnants of war.
Retribution
Uriel fights through the ruined Tauron Academy as the Operator accuses Ballas of sabotaging Xenoflora, confronting Daklo, and deciding whether to spare or kill him.
The quest concludes with a surprising encounter with Margulis, implying her co-conspiracy to protect the Tenno and erasing the Operator’s Tau memories, leaving future missions open.
The Old Peace Quest Walkthrough
Starting the quest will allow you to begin the Hide and Seek mission, which can be started from Navigation aboard your Orbiter.
During the mission, you will need to rush past Hunhullus and lure it to a large area where the battle will take place between the two of you.
Defeat Hunhullus by destroying its Synovia on its legs and chest, which each allow you to take out one of its health bars.
After a few cutscenes, follow the waypoints after starting the memory that continues with you at the Tauron Academy by first reporting for duty.
Continue making your way to each of the waypoints, which includes following Archimedean Itzam before making your way to the airlock to deploy on a mission.
After landing, complete the set of objectives, which includes destroying the Makvos Cannon using your Tauron Strike. (This serves as a tutorial for the Tauron Strike ability that Operators have)
Make your way to the next area marked by a waypoint, and you will eventually reach underground, where you will have to fight and defeat the Dactolyst.
After returning to the memory, you will need to finish the cutscene where you are being checked and later search for Adis within the Tauron Academy.
After speaking with Adis, you will need to deploy for another mission, which now requires you to search for targets to interrogate. (Similar to Capture)
Extract from the mission as a part of relocating by boarding the ship marked by an extraction waypoint, which will allow you to deploy for the next mission.
During this mission, you will need to locate and escort the Lora Transport from the Anarchs who want to destroy it.
Upon reaching the end of its journey, the Lora Transport will stop, and the passenger is revealed to be Ballas all along, and you fall out of the memory once more.
Upon entering the memory again, you find yourself in the Tauron Academy and need to make your way to Archimedean Itzam to speak with him before he heads into a roam to speak with Ballas.
You leave the area outside the chamber and deploy for Graduation Day, traveling to Tokh-Amn alongside Adis.
At the site, you meet the Bloom Guardian and are reunited with the Sentient Amar, who accompanies you as the ceremony begins.
What starts as a calm and ceremonial moment is abruptly interrupted, marking the beginning of a large-scale betrayal.
At this point, the Battle of Eden’s Ultimatum begins, where you have to fight off the attackers who have assaulted you during your Graduation Day.
Fight off the enemies that are attacking, and Archimedean Itzam will board a ship to leave for safety, but shockingly, it is destroyed before it reaches its destination.
During a cutscene, it is later discovered that a message has been given to you and Adis, which is instructions from Margulis that require you to deliver an Ayatan with trigger codes.
The next part of the quest requires that you deploy once more, but this time, your destination will be the World-Seeder, which you will be sabotaging.
Fight your way through the enemies in your way and continue making your way to the waypoint where the Ayatan object needs to be delivered.
Along the way, you will need to defeat Commandeered Prime Warframes and interact with a nearby console that becomes accessible once they are defeated.
As you and Adis descend, you are pulled out of the memory once again, and Loid reminds you that you are in a memory, but the location where your physical form lies is now under attack.
You escape the clutches of the Murmur and enter your Warframe just in time to fight back the attacking Murmur, which requires you to clear the area of them.
After destroying the remaining Murmur in the area, you go back into the memory once more to retrace the last steps in history to unveil what really happened.
Make your way to the marked area to begin the trigger destruct sequence, and this will cause enemies to appear in the area, including a Commandeered Caliban Prime Warframe.
Adis attempts to kill Anarch Galastra but refrains from doing so during a cutscene, and instead, the two of you flee the World-Seeder and later realize what really happened.
It is revealed that Ballas and the others had tricked you, and what really happened was that the Xenoflora all around the world were destroyed in the process.
Adis gives in to rage and attempts to control the Hunhullus, leaving you to chase after and challenge them before they can do exactly what Ballas wants, which is to cause mayhem.
Just as you did at the beginning of the quest, you will need to fight Hunhullus, which later ends with both you and Adis being heavily injured, but with their dying breath, Adis heals you.
This allows you to revive and provides your Operator with a surge of power, which you will now use to destroy the enemies that come to subdue you.
Clear out the rest of the enemies, and afterward, a cutscene will begin where Adis passes away, and Valdur admits that he knew about the betrayal.
The next part will have you traveling all over the destroyed land as you make your way to the Warframe known as Uriel, which was trapped for the chaotic deeds it committed in the past.
You take control of this Waframe and end up laying siege to where Ballas, Margulis, and the others should be hiding, as you are now in a frenzied state.
Upon fighting your way to the final waypoint, you encounter Margulis, who puts you in a daze, which is her attempt to calm you down and later erase your memory of what happened. (Quest ends here)
Rewards
The completion of The Old Peace allows you to later access the Dark Refractory, which is where you can partake in The Descendia and The Perita Rebellion.
This later leads you to being able to obtain new equipment introduced in the update and even purchase Tektolyst Artifacts that enable the use of Tauron Strikes and equipping new mods and arcanes.
In addition to this, the main blueprint for crafting Uriel is rewarded to you, as well as the Operator Atmosphere cosmetic and special materials for purchasing Tektolyst Artifacts.
Verdict
The Old Peace reveals that the Old War was carefully engineered long ago, with Ballas manipulating events to unleash the Sentients while attempting to retain control over them.
By uncovering their role within this hidden chaos, the Tenno finally understand how history unfolded and unlock long-dormant potential buried deep within their memories.
As a major progression milestone, The Old Peace opens new systems, equipment, and activities, firmly establishing itself as a pivotal turning point in Warframe’s evolving narrative.
