Lotus Eaters is an introductory quest related to Warframe: 1999 that will hold a new story full of battles and lore that are soon to come.
Released in Update 36.1, Lotus Eaters gives a slight glimpse of what is to come in Warframe: 1999 and involves a strange call that The Lotus has received.
Upon answering the call, both the Drifter and Operator make their way to respond to the Lotus, who has received a call from The Man in the Wall.
The Lotus Eaters Walkthrough
The quest begins with you in Sanctum Anatomica, where you will make your way outside and head to where The Lotus is waiting.
This will be only a short distance heading out of the opening at the side of the sanctum, where you will need to make your way to the ledge where The Lotus is found holding a device.
The strange device emits a sound, which turns out to be a call, but it is not from any nearby location in the system and is instead, from another time.
Upon reaching The Lotus, a cutscene begins where you will choose a response from both the Drifter and the Operator.
Regardless of your choice, the cutscene ends with The Drifter being selected as the Operator knows less about the device that The Lotus holds.
It is decided that The Drifter will be sent to find the source of the call, which sends him back into 1999 to find it by first interacting with the device held by The Lotus.
Upon arriving in 1999, you will need to approach a Kavat named Kalymos, who will stretch their legs before leading the way.
Kalymos will lead the way, and you will follow the Kavat to reach the source of the call, which is in an office.
You will be making your way through an abandoned mall that shows what 1999 will be like and after reaching the office the device may be found.
Interacting with the device will take the Drifter back and this starts the beginning of forging a link to the past, which is 1999. (Quest ends once you are back with The Lotus)
Lotus Eaters Quest Rewards
Not much is given or known about the rewards from this quest as of now but once you have completed Lotus Eaters, you will get mail from Loid.
Loid will speak about what has happened and what will come next, which involves you being sent to 1999, but he assures you that you will be equipped with what you need to survive.
Attached to the mail will be Arthur’s Kinepage, which appears to be the device that was used to contact The Lotus and may be a link to the past.
Verdict
After finding a way to connect the present and the past, it looks like the adventures for the Tenno will be at another time from here.
Loid has been putting a lot of work into making sure that there is a connection and backup plan by working on the Kalymos Sequence.
Now that the first steps to 1999 have been taken, it will only be a matter of time before you are sent into a whole new world full of new enemies to face.
