Techrot Chitin was previously part of a piece of an electronic device that was consumed and took on a new shape after being corrupted by the Techrot infestation.
There is still use for it though as this resource has now become a requirement in crafting equipment introduced in the Warframe 1999 update.
Obtaining Techrot Chitin is similar to the other common resources added in the update and can easily be farmed with little to no effort.
Where To Farm Techrot Chitin?
Techrot Chitin can be found almost anywhere within the Hollvania Missions that were added when the Warframe 1999 update was released.
Once you have completed The Hex quest, you can freely do missions in Hollvania that will allow you to obtain Techrot Chitin and other resources. (NavNow missions and Bounties)
How To Get Techrot Chitin?
The majority of the containers found in Hollvania will have a good chance to provide you with Techrot Chitin once you destroy them.
Techrot Chitin is a common resource, which makes the chances of it dropping higher than other resources that were introduced in the update.
One of the guaranteed ways to obtain Techrot Chitin would be to destroy the Proto-Infested Clumps that will usually be scattered around the Hollvania Missions.
While enemies in these missions can drop resources, your best bet would be to rely on destroying loot containers instead as these guarantee at least a few resources.
Completing Bounties provides a lot of rewards and Techrot Chitin may sometimes be amongst the reward tables, allowing you to get bundles of them.
Farming Techrot Chitin with an active Resource Booster will increase the amount that you get, allowing you to obtain more of this resource in a lesser amount of time.
Techrot Chitin Uses
Techrot Chitin is required for crafting some of the equipment and components that were introduced in the Warframe 1999 update, which includes the following:

- AX-52
- Vesper 77 Barrel
- Vesper 77 Receiver
- Vesper 77 Handle
- Reconifex Barrel
- Reconifex Receiver
Verdict
Techrot Chitin may not appear as much as the rest of the resources at certain times due to Proto-Infested Clumps not being a regular spawn but a lot will come from loot containers.
The best way to get your hands on a ton of Techrot Chitin would be to simply play more Hollvania Missions and destroy as many loot containers as possible since they have random drops.
Most of the weapons and components added in the Warframe 1999 update require Techrot Chitin, making it worth farming until you have enough to craft everything.
