The Chief Ecologist is concerned about a Great Jagras that has been spotted in the Ancient Forest as these creatures have been known to swallow things whole.
It has been requested that you take care of this problem as the Chief Ecologist is worried that one of his researchers may be the next thing that it gobbles up.
You will need to track down the Great Jagras and slay it before it gets the chance to bring harm to any researchers.

Walkthrough
Start out in Southwest Camp (1) and make your way towards the open field where the exit of the camp leads to.
If you head towards Sector 2, you will come face to face with a Great Jagras but eventually one will come out into the field.
Once you find the Great Jagras, attempt to kill it by attacking it and chasing it down whenever it runs until it is dead.
If the Great Jagras has a chance to escape, it will do so and you will need to follow it which may eventually lead to its nest where it may attempt to rest, if it manages to escape when its health is critical.
Quest Rewards
After you have hunted down the Great Jagras and killed it, the mission will come to an end and you will be rewarded with 1,800 Zenny.
Tips
- You can wait for the Great Jagras to come out into the field and attack it while it is busy devouring one of the Aptonoth roaming around.
- The Great Jagras is quite slow and becomes easier to hit while it is wallowing something, making it easy to hit its front from the sides.
- Attacking from the side of the Great Jagras makes things very easy but be sure to dodge when it attempts to lie down and bump into you.
