Barbarians are well known for their brutish skills and one of the more popular ones used is Whirlwind, which has been around in the previous titles.
Whirlwind is one of the Barbarian’s Core Skills and this can be improved by imprinting one of your items with Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind.
This provides your Whirlwind Skill to have increased Critical Strike Chance, which gives you a chance to deal more damage to enemies.
Aspect of The Dire Whirlwind Effects (Whirlwind Aspect)
Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind takes effect when you channel the Whirlwind Skill, increasing by a certain percentage for each second.
This means that the longer you are using Whirlwind, the higher the Critical Strike Chance will be but this only triggers as you use it.
The Critical Strike Chance from Dire Whirlwind stacks with other Critical Strike Chance stats, which provides you with different build options.

Completing the Garan Hold Dungeon, which is found to the east of Corbach in Strand will unlock Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind. (Scosglen)
How To Get Aspect of The Dire Whirlwind? (Garan Hold Walkthrough)
1) Destroy the Idols
As you enter the Garan Hold, you will be exploring the Garan Hold, which later requires that you destroy 3 Idols.
These Idols may be found by exploring the area and will appear on your map once you are within a certain range from them.
2) Travel to the Halls of Cinder
Once the 3 Idols have been destroyed, you will need to continue exploring the next area until you reach the Halls of Cinder.
As you are making your way to the Halls of Cinder, you will encounter an additional random objective that blocks your path.
3) Slay Xor’lim and collect Garan’s Key to open the Chamber Door
Continue making your way through the area until you reach the Chamber Door, which you will need to interact with to reach the boss area.
Kill Xor’lim and he will drop Garan’s Key, which you will need to collect to use later to open a nearby gate leading to the next area.
4) Defeat the Spiritcaller of Flames
An enemy called the Spiritcaller of Flames will be in the next area (Chamber of Ash) and you will need to defeat him to complete the dungeon.
Verdict
The Barbarian has several passives that can stack with Aspect of the Dire Whirlwind’s Critical Strike Chance, which may even contribute to his Gushing Wounds Passive. (Barbarian Bleed Build)
Aside from that, his other passives along with Critical Strike Chance from gear and the Aspect go hand in hand to provide you with a Barbarian Critical Build.
With more Critical Strike Chance, Barbarians can deal severe damage, especially when they have a lot of ways to make enemies vulnerable.
