The Dreadnaught is filled with a seemingly infinite number of enemies that are a great danger to everyone and it is time to put a stop to them.
With Eris Morn’s guidance, Sloane’s leadership, and the Drifter’s resourcefulness, you must all come together and devise a plan to fight back.
Certain steps need to be taken to keep Eris Morn’s Throne World safe and at the same time, you will have to deal with Savathun, Xivu Arath, and the Echo of Navigation.
How To Get Act 3: Crossed Blades Quest?
Completing Act 2: Rites of the Deep will cause the Act 3: Crossed Blades quest to become active, which you can view from your Quests Menu.
This requires that all of the steps of Rites of the Deep are completed, including the last Quest Step that provides you with the quest’s rewards.
Act 3: Crossed Blades Quest Steps (Objectives)
Step 1: Return to the rift near the Shaping Slab in the Last City to see Eris
Upon receiving Act 3: Crossed Blades, your first objective will be to head over to the Noiseless Chantry to witness a conversation between Eris and the Echo of Navigation.
Head over to Eris Morn’s Apartment and enter the rift to search the Noiseless Chantry and wait for the conversation to come to an end.
Step 2: Venture into the Sunless Cell and stop Xivu Arath’s ritual to tear the Echo from Eris’s throne
Xivu Arath has plans of her own and this involves ripping the Echo of Navigation out of Eris Morn’s grasp, which you must prevent.
This requires that you launch the “Sunless Cell” Strike, which can be done from the Act III: Crossed Blades Quest or from the Last City destination.
Step 3: Visit the Shaping Slab vendor and acquire your directives for exacting Vengeance on Xivu Arath and Savathun
Xivu Arath has plans of her own and this involves ripping the Echo of Navigation out of Eris Morn’s grasp, which you must prevent.
This requires that you launch the “Sunless Cell” Strike, which can be done from the Act 3: Crossed Blades Quest or from the Last City destination.
Step 4: Hone your Taken power and thin the Hive numbers by completing Vengeance side quests obtained from the shaping Slab
A set of 6 different quests will be available at the Shaping Slab once you have reached Quest Step 4 and these may be accessed in the second tab.
You will need to complete at least 4 of the Vengeance Quests to progress to the next Quest Step, which involves causing chaos to your enemies.

- Mission Dossier: Witch’s Gambit
- Mission Dossier: Sibling Squabbles
- Mission Dossier: Blade Logic
- Writ: Misguided Vengeance
- Writ: Bloodied Blades
- Writ: Heir of Nothing
Step 5: Visit the Echo of Navigation
The Echo of Navigation (Oryx) scoffs at the failed efforts of his sisters and has invited you to meet them in battle while also offering an edge.
You will need to head over to the Echo of Navigation, who is currently in the Noiseless Chantry to speak with him.
Step 6: END OF WEEK 1
After speaking to the Echo of Navigation, it is revealed that he is disappointed with what has become of his sisters and it seems that he now roots for you.
This ends Part I of the Act III: Crossed Blades quest.
Step 7: Meet with the Echo of Navigation in Eris’ Throne World
With Part II of Act III: Crossed Blades available, you will need to begin by heading back to the Echo of Navigation to speak with him.
At this point, he is frustrated knowing that Savathun will attempt to steal him from Eris Morn only to imprison him in the same manner.
Step 8: Infiltrate Savathun’s Throne World and put a stop to her ritual to steal the Echo from Eris’s throne
A plan has now been set and you are going to make a move against Savathun to stop her from attacking Eris Morn’s Throne World.
This requires that you make your way to the Temple of Navigation, which can be done by heading to the Fluorescent Canal on Savathun’s Throne World and proceeding to Queen’s Bailey.
Once you reach Queen’s Bailey, you may continue making your way to the Temple of Navigation and this is where the action begins.

Step 9: With Savathun’s ritual thwarted, assist Deputy Commander Sloane in reforging the Willbreaker.
You have dealt a massive blow to Savathun’s plans and now with time available, you must help Sloane and reforge the Willbreaker at The Founts aboard the Dreadnaught.
Doing this requires that you start a mission called Appellation, which involves you heading to the location to meet up with Sloane and protect her.
Step 10: Confer with Eris Morn and Sloane at the Shaping Slab
After the recent events, you will now need to return to the Shaping Slab and this will allow you to obtain rewards for your efforts.
Step 11: Visit Eris Morn in her Throne World and speak with her about next steps
Eris Morn will be waiting for you in her Throne World, which requires you to head over to her and wait for her dialogue to finish before she sends you off to take on the Dread.
Step 12: Bring your blade to bear against the Resonant Knife
The time has come for you to finally get rid of the Echo of Navigation, which will take place during the “Resile” mission that becomes available with this quest step.
Resile is a mission that will have you fighting your way through the Dreadnaught and eventually take on the Echo of Navigation’s forces.
Step 13: Return victorious to the Shaping Slab and share your triumph over the Echo of Navigation
After completing the Resile mission, head back to the Shaping Slab to claim additional rewards and progress.
Step 14: Speak to the Hive Worm in Eris Morn’s Apartment
A dormant Hive Work in the apartment has started to radiate with Lucent energy and you will need to approach it to see what is going on.
It turns out Savathun contacted you through the worm and she offers threats in her anger after your victory.
Act 3: Crossed Blades Rewards
As you progress through the Act III: Crossed Blades quest, you will be able to obtain multiple rewards through the activities that you complete.
Certain parts of the quest will also provide you with rewards, and some of these come from the first week, which provides you with the following:
- Heretical Weapon
- Sigil Shards
- Essence of Desire
Verdict
While Savathun and Xivu Arath have their agendas, their move against the Throne World is imminent but you have gotten in their way.
The Echo of Navigation seems to start taking an interest in you, which is shown through him considering you as his heir.
Savathun and Xivu Arath still have more plans up their sleeves and you are all that stands in their way from assaulting Eris Morn’s Throne World and taking back the Echo of Navigation.
