Destiny 2: How to Get Decrypted Data

Destiny 2 Decrypted Data

Along with the arrival of Season of the Splicer, a new material known as Decrypted Data was introduced to Destiny 2.

Decrypted Data is one of the necessary resources you will need when it comes to powering and upgrading your Splicer Gauntlet and creating Season of the Splicer Focused Umbral Engrams.

Although Season of the Splicer mainly requires Decrypted Data for all of its crafting, it may be a little tricky when it comes to Decrypted Data farming.

Where to Get Decrypted Data?

If you are wondering how to get Decrypted Data in Destiny 2, there are quite a few ways but some of these may appear to be a grind at first.

Decrypted Data can be obtained by

Seasonal Challenges (Weekly Challenges)

To bide with the Season of the Splicer, doing some of the challenges related to the season is one of the best ways for you to get Decrypted Data.

Several challenges will reward you with Decrypted Data which you may not even focus on but complete later on as you play through the season.

Be sure to check out your Seasonal Challenges and collect your rewards from time to time so you can make use of the extra Decrypted Data boost.

Defeating Network Anomalies (Decrypted Data Goblin)

During the Override Missions such as Override: Moon, you may sometimes stumble upon an enemy called Network Anomaly.

This enemy will drop a lot of Decrypted Data which can be useful later on and may even drop an Umbral Engram.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled as this enemy usually appears in a secret place or during the fight with bosses during Override Missions.

Completing Override Missions

Season of the Splicer has introduced both the Splicer Gauntlet and Override Missions which go hand in hand.

Similar to Battlegrounds Missions, you will be able to obtain an additional reward at the end if you have used Ether to equip your Splicer Gauntlet with a Key Code.

The Key Code in your Splicer Gauntlet is consumed when you use it on the chest at the end of an Override Mission, providing you with rewards as well as Decrypted Data.

You will need to kill enemies on planets, during activities, completing Lost Sectors, doing Strikes, Gambit, and more to get Ether which is used to create Key Code to obtain Decrypted Data.

Decrypted Data Use

Decrypted Data is used for upgrading your Splicer Gauntlet, providing it with a multitude of bonuses to make your hacking adventures more thrilling.

You can also use Decrypted Data when at the H.E.L.M. and make Focused Umbral Engrams for specific Season of the Splicer gear.

It is a good idea to focus on upgrading your Splicer Gauntlet first as this will help you farm Decrypted Data later on as you progress.

Verdict

Players will need to resort to Override Missions to as a Decrypted Data farm method as this is a primary source if they do not have the Season Pass.

Seasonal Challenges will provide players with a large amount of Decrypted Data but this may end when the season finishes.

Network Anomalies are not easy to spot and should not be seen as the main priority but instead just a bonus source for Decrypted Data.

The Decrypted Data cap is inventory based and does not limited you to a capacity with the Splicer Gauntlet.
