Hydroid Abilities
Passive Ability
Enemies hit by Hydroid become more susceptible to Corrosive Status, making them easier to damage with weapons and abilities that apply this effect.
Once affected, the increased vulnerability persists, allowing Corrosive Status to stack from any source, not only Hydroid’s own attacks, while benefiting from the bonus.
1) Tempest Barrage
Hydroid summons a tempest to rain down upon a targeted area, which results in an explosion in the area that deals Corrosive Damage to enemies.
While the ability is active, Hydroid may continue moving freely and may even summon additional instances for an even more chaotic bombardment.
Tempest Barrage (Max Rank)
Stat | Value | Affected By |
Drain | 25 Energy | Ability Efficiency |
| Radius | 10 Meters | N/A |
Duration | 10 Seconds | Ability Duration |
| Damage | 300 Corrosive | Ability Strength |
Explosion Radius | 5 Meters | Ability Range |
Augment Mods:
- Viral Tempest causes enemies to be inflicted with the Viral Status Effect when they are hit by the projectiles. Obtained from Cephalon Suda/New Loka.
2) Tidal Surge
Hydroid transforms into a wave of water and crashes its way through enemies, dealing damage and capable of knocking them down.
Utilizing this ability will make Hydroid invulnerable while he is in his water form, making this perfect for getting in and out of a fight.
Tidal Surge (Max Rank)
Stat | Value | Affected By |
Drain | 50 Energy | Ability Efficiency |
| Range | 6 Meters | Ability Range |
Damage | 300 Corrosive | Ability Strength |
Augment Mods:
- Tidal Impurity causes Tidal Surge to clear Status Effects and grants Status Immunity for you and your allies that come in contact with the wave. This also reduces Tidal Surge’s energy cost. Obtained from Cephalon Suda/New Loka.
3) Plunder
Hydroid gains bonus Corrosive Damage by siphoning Armor from nearby enemies, enhancing both his abilities and weapon attacks.
Enemies already affected by Corrosive Status contribute more to this bonus, further amplifying the damage Hydroid can inflict.
Plunder (Max Rank)
Stat | Value | Affected By |
Drain | 75 Energy | Ability Efficiency |
| Range | 25 Meters | Ability Range |
Duration | 25 Seconds | Ability Duration |
| Armor/Enemy | 40 | Ability Strength |
Max Armor | 750 | Ability Strength |
| Damage/Enemy | 10% | Ability Strength |
Damage/Status Effect | 10% | Ability Strength |
| Max Corrosive Damage | 200% | Ability Strength |
Augment Mods:
- Rousing Plunder increases Plunder’s max Corrosive Damage and heals Hydroid and his allies who are within Affinity Range. Obtained from Cephalon Suda/New Loka.
4) Tentacle Swarm
Hydroid summons a creature from the depths that surfaces to wreak havoc on enemies with its tentacles.
The creature lashes out, dealing damage while grabbing and tossing enemies around for the duration of its presence.
Tentacle Swarm (Max Rank)
Stat | Value | Affected By |
Drain | 50 Energy | Ability Efficiency |
| Radius | 15 Meters | Ability Range |
Number of Tentacles | 20 | N/A |
| Damage | 200 Corrosive | Ability Strength |
Duration | 20 Seconds | Ability Duration |
Augment Mods:
- Pilfering Swarm causes enemies that are being held by tentacles to have additional drops. Obtained from Cephalon Suda/New Loka.
Verdict
Hydroid excels at both crowd control and dealing consistent damage to enemies, which can be used for both large areas or for controlling specific zones.
With Tentacle Swarm enhanced by the Pilfering Swarm augment, Hydroid becomes a highly effective Warframe for farming, efficiently gathering loot while handling multiple enemies.
Using Hydroid effectively requires positioning and timing, but his abilities are straightforward, making him reliable for offense, defense, and team support in nearly any mission.
