Warframe: How to Get Hydroid & Hydroid Prime (2026) Guide

Hydroid is a Warframe that commands the power of the depths, using his abilities to bring watery chaos upon enemies who get in his way.

With a mix of crowd control, offensive, and utility-focused abilities, he can adapt to both solo and team missions effectively.

His capabilities include boosting Corrosive Damage, disabling enemies, and summoning a deadly creature to deal area damage, making him versatile for multiple playstyles.

How To Get Hydroid?

Hydroid may be purchased for 300 Platinum, or you may purchase his main blueprint and find his components to craft him instead.

You may purchase the Hydroid Blueprint from the in-game market that is accessible from within your Orbiter for 50,000 Credits.

Hydroid Components

Once you reach Mastery Rank 5, you can begin farming Hydroid Components from the Oro mission, which is located on Earth.

Hydroid Abilities

Passive Ability

Enemies hit by Hydroid become more susceptible to Corrosive Status, making them easier to damage with weapons and abilities that apply this effect.

Once affected, the increased vulnerability persists, allowing Corrosive Status to stack from any source, not only Hydroid’s own attacks, while benefiting from the bonus.

1) Tempest Barrage

Hydroid summons a tempest to rain down upon a targeted area, which results in an explosion in the area that deals Corrosive Damage to enemies.

While the ability is active, Hydroid may continue moving freely and may even summon additional instances for an even more chaotic bombardment.

2) Tidal Surge

Hydroid transforms into a wave of water and crashes its way through enemies, dealing damage and capable of knocking them down.

Utilizing this ability will make Hydroid invulnerable while he is in his water form, making this perfect for getting in and out of a fight.

3) Plunder

Hydroid gains bonus Corrosive Damage by siphoning Armor from nearby enemies, enhancing both his abilities and weapon attacks.

Enemies already affected by Corrosive Status contribute more to this bonus, further amplifying the damage Hydroid can inflict.

The creature lashes out, dealing damage while grabbing and tossing enemies around for the duration of its presence.

Verdict

Hydroid excels at both crowd control and dealing consistent damage to enemies, which can be used for both large areas or for controlling specific zones.

With Tentacle Swarm enhanced by the Pilfering Swarm augment, Hydroid becomes a highly effective Warframe for farming, efficiently gathering loot while handling multiple enemies.

Using Hydroid effectively requires positioning and timing, but his abilities are straightforward, making him reliable for offense, defense, and team support in nearly any mission.
