Stardew Valley Cloth (How to Get, Id, Uses & Price)

Stardew Valley Cloth

“A bolt of fine wool cloth.”

Cloth is one of the processed ingredients that you can make in Stardew Valley, which has many uses later when you have access to a Sewing Machine.

This is one of the Artisan Goods and can be used as another source of getting Gold if you can produce a lot of them, provided you have all the materials needed.

Using Cloth is mainly for clothing, but it also has other purposes such as being a requirement in building and crafting.

Where to Get Cloth?

Cloth is mainly crafted at your farm and this can be done once you have a Loom or more, which is where they need to be processed.

You can also get them by a good chance when you fight Mummies, which spawn in the Skull Cavern, making it a good place to get Cloth when you need it.

How to Get Cloth?

To make Cloth, you will first have to craft a Loom and place it down on your Farm or in your home, which will allow you to process Wool.

You will need to use the Loom while selecting Wool as an item and will be able to get 2 Cloth after 4 in-game hours.

Let’s see the process of getting Cloth in Stardew Valley:

1) Processing Wool in Loom

Cloth is made in the Loom and can be done once you have obtained Wool, which is an animal product that you can obtain once you have them.

Animals that provide Wool are the Rabbit and Sheep, which will continuously be a good source of the material for making Cloth later.

It is possible to get additional clothes when you use Quality Wool in it, which can be a good trade if you have a lot on hand.

2) Defeating Mummies

The only enemy in Stardew Valley that can drop Cloth is the Mummy and these can be encountered once you enter Skull Cavern.

There are 2 instances of cloth in the Mummy’s drop table which include a 20% and 5% chance to drop, giving you a chance to get 2 from them.

Seeking out Mummies for Cloth may not be the best way to get Cloth often, but it is a good way to get a little bit whenever you need to grab some on your way.

Other Ways to Get Cloth

  • Received from Emily through mail
  • Purchase from Desert Trader (Wednesdays)

Cloth Uses

Cloth only has one use when it comes to building and crafting but besides these, it is mainly used for making different types of outfits.

You will need Cloth when you plan on building a Mill, which is done by speaking to Robin, or when you want to craft a Dressed Spinner, a type of bait.

Aside from these mentioned uses, Cloth is used in the Sewing Machine to make the following:

Cloth Sell Price

When it comes to selling, the selling price for Cloth is 470 Gold but with the Rancher Profession, you can sell it for 564 Gold or 658 Gold if you have the Artisan Good Profession.

You can sell the Cloth for the base price of 470 gold. Also, if you have a Rancher Profession you can sell it for 564 gold, and if you have an Artisan Profession you can sell it for a high gold value of 658 gold.

Verdict

Cloth is not a material that you can expect to obtain early on in the game and will most likely be obtainable once you have farm animals.

If you plan to craft a lot of different items to wear, having a good supply of clothes will be necessary along with the other materials needed.

Once a Mill has already been built and you have crafted a Dressed Spinner, Cloth will afterward just be another source of Gold for you.
