Belial, The Lord of Lies returns and now reigns havoc upon Sanctuary with his Apparitions and you are the only person who stands in his way.
While other mortals easily succumb to Belial’s tricks, you can resist his control and must team up with the Vizjerei Sayeena to put a stop to his plans.
Season 8 introduces a Seasonal Questline with 6 Quests to complete as you fight back against the Lord of Lies.
All Season 8 (Belial’s Return) Quests
A Deceitful Incursion (Quest 1)
As you start in Kyovashad, you see a woman who tries to get your attention and upon speaking to her, she reveals the appearance of strange demons.
You investigate a forgotten crypt that the woman, who is later revealed to be called Sayeena, has determined that they have been spawning in the area.
Upon visiting the crypt, you encounter a Mysterious Demon who turns out to be Belial and he attempts to convert you, but you resist his power and steal some of his.
This quest unlocks Boss Powers, a feature introduced in Season 8 that allows you to take certain powers from bosses and use them as your own.

A Shop of Curios (Quest 2)
Your previous encounter with Belial raised a concern with Sayeena and now she is curious about how you were able to resist the demon.
Sayeena invites you into her shop to study you and see what happened and discovers that you and Belial now have a connection that allows you to use Boss Powers.
From here on, you and Sayeena will try to find a way to put an end to Belial’s plans, which are to take over Sanctuary.
After this quest, the Repeatable Quest called Belial’s Apparition Incursion becomes available in between the rest of the Seasonal Quests.

Buried Hope (Quest 3)
While you were fighting Belial’s Apparitions, Sayeena has been devising a plan to perform a ritual that should be able to banish Belial.
This however requires an artifact known as the Flayed Mask, which you will need to search for the ritual to work.
Before heading to the site where the Flayed Mask is known to be buried, you will stop by Menestad and seek the aid of Jarius.

Masked Truths (Quest 4)
After retrieving the Flayed Mask, you and Sayeena now make your way to the Temple of Belial where the ritual will be performed.
Sayeena hopes that Belial is not yet strong enough to remain in this world and that the ritual she performs using the Flayed Mask will get rid of him for good.
The two of you will travel to Belial’s temple and you must ensure that the ritual is uninterrupted as Sayeena will be vulnerable as she channels her magic.

Chasing Lies (Quest 5)
The previous attempt to banish Belial by performing a ritual failed and it looks like he is too powerful, and another plan must be devised.
While speaking to Sayeena, the two of you are interrupted by Jarius as he seems to be losing his mind and believes that you are followers of the demon.
As you and Sayeena chase after the confused Jarius, all of you are pulled into the Realm of Lies by the demon and must find a way out.

The Lord of Lies (Quest 6)
After escaping from the Realm of Lies, you meet up with Sayeena again and she tells you that the only option left is to fight Belial to put a stop to him.
Before fighting Belial, you will need to change to the Torment I difficulty and afterward, you may challenge him in the Palace of the Deceiver.
Defeating Belial may not completely put a stop to him but afterward, you may continue to fight off his Apparitions and challenge him again.

Season 8 Repeatable Quest
Belial’s Apparition Incursion
Belial’s Apparition Incursion is a repeatable quest that becomes available during Season 8 and often fills the gap between quests.
This repeatable quest requires that you obtain Unveiler’s Oath Reputation to reach each tier, which eventually unlocks the other Seasonal Quests.
The fastest way to complete parts of Belial’s Apparition Incursion is to participate in the Apparition Incursion events.

Verdict
The return of Belial sparks a huge conflict for everyone in Sanctuary as he plans on trapping every mortal in his Realm of Lies.
Most of the time, you will be focusing on increasing your Unveiler’s Oath Reputation to progress with the Seasonal Questline. (Done with each character)
Even though you defeat Belial, he will continue to make appearances as a surprise boss who may provide you with additional rewards throughout the season.
