Critical Strike builds become much easier to push when a weapon can improve both how often Critical Strikes occur and how hard they hit.
Insight is designed around exactly that combination, packing several offensive bonuses into a two-handed Legacy Runeword that can be crafted across a wide selection of weapon types.
This guide covers how to craft Insight, how its Critical Strike bonuses work together, and which classes and builds can make the most of it.
How to Get Insight?
Insight can be obtained during Season 15 by combining the required Runes with a compatible Common weapon through the Horadric Cube.
Several different two-handed and ranged weapon types can be used as the base, allowing the Runeword to accommodate classes with different weapon restrictions.
The finished weapon becomes the Unique Insight and gains its complete set of offensive properties.
How to Craft Insight?
To craft Insight, place a compatible Common weapon into the Horadric Cube together with the following Runes:
- Ral Rune
- Tir Rune
- Tal Rune
- Sol Rune
The Runes must be used in the correct Ral + Tir + Tal + Sol order for the recipe to successfully create Insight.
Compatible bases include a Staff, Bow, Crossbow, Glaive, Polearm, Quarterstaff, or Two-Handed Scythe, with the appropriate choice depending on the class using it.
Insight Effects
Insight concentrates most of its power into straightforward offensive stats, with Critical Strikes receiving particularly strong support.
The Polearm version crafted for this guide provides the following properties:
- +203 Weapon Damage
- +290 All Stats
- +30 Spirit Regeneration
- +35.0% Attack Speed
- +21.0% Critical Strike Chance
- x200% Critical Strike Damage Multiplier
The exact class-specific property can differ depending on the character and weapon used, while some values also scale with the finished item’s properties.
Critical Strike Chance and Damage
Insight provides both Critical Strike Chance and a massive Critical Strike Damage Multiplier, allowing the weapon to improve two complementary parts of a Critical Strike build.
Increasing Critical Strike Chance makes those amplified hits occur more consistently, while the multiplier significantly increases the damage dealt when a Critical Strike is triggered.
Builds already investing heavily into Critical Strike Chance can therefore make particularly strong use of Insight instead of relying on the weapon to establish the mechanic by itself.
Attack Speed and Critical Strikes
The 35% Attack Speed on the crafted version allows compatible Skills to attack more frequently, giving fast offensive builds another useful benefit beyond the weapon’s direct Critical Strike bonuses.
More frequent attacks can also create additional opportunities to land Critical Strikes when using Skills whose effectiveness scales well with Attack Speed.
This combination makes Insight particularly appealing to builds capable of benefiting simultaneously from faster attacks, high Critical Strike Chance, and amplified Critical Strike damage.
Weapon Damage and All Stats
Insight also provides substantial Weapon Damage, strengthening the underlying damage of attacks before its Critical Strike bonuses are considered.
The All Stats affix provides a broader collection of benefits rather than concentrating everything into a single Primary Stat, with its exact usefulness varying between classes and builds.
Together, these properties give Insight useful baseline offensive value even before a build begins taking full advantage of its Critical Strike specialization.
Resource Support
The Polearm crafted on a Druid also provides +30 Spirit Regeneration, adding Resource support to an otherwise heavily offensive collection of affixes.
This helps replenish Spirit for builds that regularly spend their Primary Resource, reducing some of the pressure placed on other sources of Resource recovery.
The Resource-related property should be checked on the finished version when crafting Insight for another class, rather than assuming the Druid’s Spirit bonus applies universally.
Choosing the Best Base for Insight
Insight can be crafted using a Staff, Bow, Crossbow, Glaive, Polearm, Quarterstaff, or Two-Handed Scythe, making base selection an important part of preparing the Runeword.
The best choice depends primarily on which weapon categories the intended class can equip and whether the build requires a particular weapon type for its Skills or other bonuses.
Since Insight occupies a two-handed or ranged weapon slot, it should also be compared against any combination of equipment that the chosen base prevents the character from using.
Best Classes and Builds for Insight
Insight is most attractive for builds that already make Critical Strikes a major part of their damage rather than builds with little investment in Critical Strike Chance.
Its selection of compatible bases allows several classes to use the Runeword, provided the character can equip one of the supported weapon types.
Fast-attacking Critical Strike builds are particularly well positioned to use several of Insight’s bonuses together, while builds that cannot capitalize on Critical Strikes leave much of its strongest offensive potential unused.
How to Make the Most of Insight?
Pair Insight with additional sources of Critical Strike Chance to improve the consistency of the weapon’s powerful Critical Strike Damage Multiplier.
Skills and bonuses that benefit from Attack Speed can further increase its value, allowing several of the Runeword’s offensive properties to contribute to the same playstyle.
Because the weapon occupies a major equipment slot, compare its complete offensive package against other Unique or two-handed options rather than judging the large Critical Strike multiplier in isolation.
Is Insight Worth Using?
Insight offers an unusually concentrated package for Critical Strike builds, combining Attack Speed, Critical Strike Chance, Weapon Damage, All Stats, and a substantial Critical Strike Damage Multiplier.
Its broad selection of compatible weapon bases also makes it more flexible than Runewords restricted to a single weapon category.
The main consideration is whether a build benefits enough from its Critical Strike specialization to justify giving up another powerful weapon or weapon combination.
Verdict
Insight provides a powerful collection of complementary offensive bonuses for builds that rely heavily on Critical Strikes.
Its combination of Attack Speed, Critical Strike Chance, and a large Critical Strike Damage Multiplier allows several parts of the weapon to contribute toward the same offensive goal.
With multiple compatible bases available, Insight can serve as a strong two-handed option whenever its Critical Strike-focused properties align with the build.
