Diablo 4 has brought on a lot of new things with Season 8: Belial’s Return and while some players have been surprised by the changes, others love them.
Not only will you get a whole new experience with a new Seasonal Questline, but some changes have been made to the game itself.
These include ways to progress in the game as well as how rewards are obtained, and we have listed some of the changes worth mentioning for you.
Everything New in Season 8
New Seasonal Questline
The Season 8 Seasonal Questline includes 6 new quests that have you chasing after the Lord of Lies to put a stop to his plans.
This has you teaming up with a Vizjerei named Sayeena and a Knight called Jarius as you battle it out against Belial’s Apparitions.
Boss Powers (Season 8)
Just like with the other seasons, there is always a new feature that evens the odds against your enemies, and in Season 8 it’s the new Boss Powers.
These are powers that you may equip, having 1 main power and 3 others to use as modifiers and these may be obtained by defeating bosses.
Apparition Incursions (Season 8)
Apparition Incursions is a new event that is available in Season 8, which pits you against the Apparitions spawned into Sanctuary by Belial.
These events provide you with chances to obtain Boss Powers, Unveiler’s Oath Reputation, Spectral Ash, and a ton of rewards throughout the season.
Unveiler’s Oath (Season 8)
Unveiler’s Oath is the new Seasonal Reputation system, which requires you to build up your reputation to increase your tier with the board.
Unlocking more tiers will provide you with rewards for each tier, which also includes the Seasonal Quests that you can complete once available.
Lair Boss Rework
Lair Bosses have been reworked and now there is a whole new system where defeating bosses may be done without summoning items and instead, Hoards will appear.
Hoards are reward chests that may be opened with Lair Keys, which provide you with extra rewards from bosses after defeating them.
Reworked Season Journey
The Season Journey UI has been changed and completing each chapter is more convenient and easier to track. (More rewards are now included for better progression)
Rewards are now provided for completing each objective and chapter while Favor has been removed while Smoldering Ashes are now rewarded from the Season Journey.
Reliquaries (New Battle Pass System)
The Battle Pass has changed into Reliquaries, which are collections of rewards that may be unlocked with Favor Tokens. (Obtained from defeating enemies and finishing quests)
The first Reliquary (Battle Pass) is free while the others need Platinum to be unlocked and each Reliquary contains Cosmetic Items that you may purchase with Favor Tokens.
Diablo x Berserk Event
From May 6 up to June 3, you will be able to grab several rewards as Diablo 4 is teaming up with Berserk to bring you a fun experience.
During the event, you will be able to slay demons and earn Cosmetic Items related to the popular series.
Verdict
Diablo 4 has a lot of new changes that may take some getting used to and while most of these were surprising and even disliked at the start, they seem to be improving.
Some players are considering Season 8 one of the best seasons when it comes to gameplay and the rewards, which are now more selective.
Throughout this new season, there is a lot more than just a story as the grinding is now more fun than ever.
