Diablo 4: Prime Evil Reputation (How to Earn, Ranks & Rewards)

Prime Evil Reputation is one of the main progression systems introduced in Diablo 4 Season 15, allowing you to strengthen the Splinter of Evil obtained from Diablo, Baal, or Mephisto.

Each Splinter has its own 24-rank reputation track containing reward caches, upgrades to its Iconic Power, and modifiers that improve several War Plan activities.

Progressing through these ranks requires Waking Nightmares, with the final rewards becoming available after reaching 20,000 Reputation.

What is Prime Evil Reputation?

Prime Evil Reputation is tied to the Splinters of Evil obtained while progressing through the Season of Hell’s Legacy questline.

There are three separate tracks for the Splinter of Terror, Splinter of Destruction, and Splinter of Hatred, with each providing a different Iconic Power and seasonal bonuses.

Only one Splinter can be borne at a time, meaning your active Prime Evil Splinter determines which reputation track you are currently progressing.

How To Unlock Prime Evil Reputation?

Prime Evil Reputation becomes available as you progress through the Season 15 questline and confront the echoes of Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto.

Completing the questline allows you to choose a Splinter of Evil to bear, granting access to its Iconic Power and corresponding reputation track.

Once selected, you can begin earning reputation by entering Waking Nightmares and defeating the remnants found within them.

All Prime Evil Reputation Tracks

There are three Prime Evil Reputation tracks in Season 15, with each one providing a different Iconic Power and modifying different War Plan activities.

Splinter of Terror

The Splinter of Terror represents Diablo and grants Flames of Metus, which periodically unleashes lines of Fire damage during combat.

Its Activity Modifiers affect Helltide and Infernal Hordes, while several additional modifiers improve the Tree of Whispers.

Splinter of Destruction

The Splinter of Destruction represents Baal and grants Ice of Excidium, which periodically releases a blast of Cold damage followed by smaller projectiles.

Its Activity Modifiers affect The Undercity and Lair Bosses, alongside additional modifiers for the Tree of Whispers.

Splinter of Hatred

The Splinter of Hatred represents Mephisto and grants Ghosts of Odium, periodically releasing spirits that deal Physical damage to nearby enemies.

Its Activity Modifiers affect Nightmare Dungeons and The Pit, with additional bonuses available through the Tree of Whispers.

How To Earn Prime Evil Reputation?

Prime Evil Reputation is earned by defeating enemies and completing encounters within Waking Nightmares while progressing your current Prime Evil Splinter.

The Splinters of Terror, Destruction, and Hatred each maintain their own reputation track, so progress earned for one does not increase the rank of the other two.

You will therefore need to switch between Prime Evil Splinters and progress each track separately if you want to unlock all of their available rewards.

All Prime Evil Reputation Ranks & Rewards

Every Prime Evil Reputation track contains 24 ranks, with the same reputation requirements and general reward structure regardless of which Splinter you currently bear.

However, rewards listed as Power Upgrades and Activity Modifiers differ between Terror, Destruction, and Hatred, since each Splinter provides its own Iconic Power and modifies different activities.

How To Claim Prime Evil Reputation Rewards?

You can view your current Prime Evil Reputation through Deckard’s Table, where the complete 24-rank reward track for your active Splinter is displayed.

The interface shows your current rank, reputation progress, upcoming rewards, and how much reputation is still required to reach the next milestone.

Return to Deckard’s Table as you progress through the track to collect any Prime Evil Reputation rewards that have become available.

Can You Progress All Three Prime Evil Reputation Tracks?

The Splinters of Terror, Destruction, and Hatred each maintain a separate reputation track, allowing you to eventually progress all three instead of permanently committing to your first choice.

However, only one Prime Evil Splinter can be borne at a time, so you will need to change Splinters when you want to begin progressing another track.

Reputation progress remains associated with each Splinter, allowing you to return to a previously used Prime Evil and continue progressing its track later.

How To Change Your Prime Evil Splinter?

Choosing a Splinter during the Season 15 questline does not permanently lock you into that Prime Evil for the remainder of the season.

When you are ready to follow another path, return to the largest Waking Nightmares to acquire another Splinter and replace the one you currently bear.

Changing Splinters also changes your Iconic Power and allows you to begin or continue progressing the reputation track associated with that Prime Evil.

Prime Evil Reputation vs Season Rank

Prime Evil Reputation and Season Rank are separate progression systems, even though both are advanced by participating in Season 15 content.

Season Rank contains nine ranks centered around challenges and Capstones, while each Prime Evil Reputation track contains 24 ranks focused on Waking Nightmares, Iconic Power upgrades, and Activity Modifiers.

Some activities can contribute toward both systems, but increasing your Prime Evil Reputation does not directly increase your Season Rank.

Best Ways To Farm Prime Evil Reputation

Waking Nightmares are the main source of Prime Evil Reputation, making faster encounters particularly useful when repeatedly progressing your current Splinter.

Dungeon Waking Nightmares with simple objectives can be cleared quickly once you become familiar with their layouts, especially when using a build with enough Movement Speed to reduce travel time.

Make sure you are progressing the Prime Evil Splinter you actually want to rank up before farming, since Terror, Destruction, and Hatred maintain separate reputation progress.

How Much Prime Evil Reputation Do You Need?

You need 20,000 Reputation with a single Prime Evil Splinter to reach Rank XXIV and complete its reputation track.

The final Activity Modifier arrives at Rank XXII with 18,300 Reputation, while the final Iconic Power upgrade becomes available upon reaching Rank XXIV.

Since each Prime Evil maintains separate reputation progress, reaching the maximum rank with all three requires progressing each of their tracks individually.

Verdict

Prime Evil Reputation provides a long-term progression path for each Splinter of Evil while gradually strengthening its Iconic Power and the activities associated with it.

Every track contains 24 ranks with reward caches, six additional Power upgrades, and eight Activity Modifiers spread throughout its progression.

Since Terror, Destruction, and Hatred can each be progressed separately, Waking Nightmares remain an important part of Season 15 even after obtaining your first Splinter.
