Palworld 1.0 Expedition Guide: How to Increase Firepower & Get Better Rewards

Expeditions let you put the Pals sitting inside your Palbox to work, sending large teams away to collect useful materials while you continue playing.

Palworld 1.0 makes Expeditions particularly useful for endgame farming, with Sunreach and World Tree destinations providing access to some of the newer valuable resources.

Getting the best rewards requires more than filling every available slot, as your team’s Firepower plays an important role in determining what they bring home.

What Are Expeditions in Palworld?

Expeditions allow you to send groups of Pals from your Palbox on timed missions that automatically return with materials and other rewards when completed.

Each destination has its own duration, recommended Firepower, rewards, and sometimes an Element requirement that must be satisfied before you can send the team.

You can send up to 100 Pals on an Expedition, making this a great use for strong Pals that would otherwise remain unused inside your Palbox.

How to Start Expeditions With the Pal Expedition Station?

To start Expeditions, you need a Pal Expedition Station, which unlocks at Level 22 for 2 Technology Points and can be constructed inside your base.

Building the Pal Expedition Station requires 10 Wooden Boards, 100 Stone, 20 Paldium Fragments, and 20 Cement, with only one Station allowed at each base.

Interact with the Station, choose an available Expedition destination, and assign Pals manually or use Auto-Assign to quickly assemble a team with enough Firepower.

Additional Expedition destinations become available as you defeat Tower Bosses, while defeating their Hard Mode versions unlocks another set of more difficult Expeditions.

How Does Expedition Firepower Work?

Firepower represents the combined strength of every Pal assigned to your Expedition and is compared against the recommended amount displayed for the selected destination.

Sending less than the recommended Firepower reduces your rewards, while exceeding the requirement can improve your returns and makes stronger Expedition teams worth building.

A Pal’s Firepower is primarily calculated using its HP, Attack, Defense, and condensation level rather than simply looking at its species or Passive Skills.

How to Increase Expedition Firepower With Stronger Pals?

Your Expedition team should prioritize Pals with naturally strong stats, while still including enough of the required Element to satisfy the destination’s requirements.

Leveling and condensing these Pals can significantly increase their Firepower, making developed Pals much more valuable than unused low-level ones sitting inside your Palbox.

Pal Souls can further improve their HP, Attack, and Defense at the Statue of Power, while increasing Stat Potential helps push these important stats even higher.

For your strongest Expedition Pals, Awakening Crystals provide another way to improve their stats and squeeze additional Firepower from teams tackling demanding endgame destinations.

Hard Mode Expeditions

Defeating Tower Bosses on Hard Mode unlocks another group of Expedition destinations designed for considerably stronger teams and more specialized endgame farming.

These Expeditions generally require much higher Firepower and can provide Ancient Spheres, regional materials, Raid Boss Slab Fragments, and valuable Kinship Peaches.

The World Tree’s Forbidden Area is particularly valuable for endgame players, offering Ancient Relics and Radiant Gems used throughout the World Tree progression systems.

How to Get Better Expedition Rewards?

Increasing your total Firepower beyond the recommended amount improves the rewards brought back by your Pals, so reaching the displayed requirement should not be your final goal.

Level your Expedition Pals and improve their stats through Pal Souls, Stat Potential, and Awakening Crystals to steadily increase the Firepower they contribute.

Condensation provides one of the biggest improvements available, making fully condensed Pals particularly valuable when building teams for demanding endgame Expeditions.

The Pal Labor Research Laboratory can further improve Expedition rewards and reduce completion times, making its upgrades worthwhile if you regularly use the system.

Maximum Expedition Reward Bonus

Expedition rewards increase as you exceed the recommended Firepower, reaching a maximum base reward multiplier of 1,000% once your team has ten times the required Firepower.

Pal Labor Research Laboratory upgrades can push this even further, allowing you to reach the maximum Expedition reward bonus of 1,348%.

Does Condensing Increase Expedition Firepower?

Condensing is one of the most effective ways to increase Expedition Firepower because the Firepower calculation applies an increasingly powerful multiplier based on condensation rank.

This means a fully condensed Pal can contribute dramatically more Firepower than an uncondensed version, even before considering additional levels and stat improvements.

We recommend condensing spare breeding Pals instead of immediately getting rid of them, as they can become surprisingly powerful additions to your Expedition teams.

Do Passive Skills Increase Expedition Firepower?

Passive Skills do not directly contribute to Expedition Firepower, even when a passive normally increases the Pal’s Attack, Defense, or another relevant stat during regular gameplay.

Because of this, you do not need perfect combat passives on Pals that will primarily be used for Expeditions, making unwanted breeding offspring excellent candidates.

Focus your resources on their actual Expedition-relevant stats, levels, condensation, and enhancements instead of breeding an entire Expedition roster for specific Passive Skills.

Best Expeditions for Farming Materials

The best Expedition depends on the resource you currently need, so we recommend checking each destination’s rewards instead of automatically choosing the highest one available.

Dark Cave of Feybreak is particularly useful for Crude Oil and Chromite, while Sunreach Isle provides Soralite and Coralum Ore needed for newer progression.

World Tree Subterranean City Ruins becomes one of the most valuable choices later because it provides Ancient Relics and Radiant Gems alongside Paloxite and Ancient Civilization Cores.

Tips for Expeditions

Use Auto-Assign when you want to quickly build a team, but check the selected Pals afterward so the game does not take something you regularly need elsewhere.

Keep plenty of Pals from different Elements in your Palbox, since most Expeditions require 15 or 20 Pals belonging to a specific Element before they can begin.

Save useful breeding leftovers and condense them into stronger Expedition Pals, giving otherwise unwanted offspring another purpose instead of simply getting rid of them.

Upgrade Expedition-related research at the Pal Labor Research Laboratory if you use the system regularly, as better rewards and shorter completion times benefit every future run.

Prioritize the resources you actually need instead of always selecting the hardest Expedition, since lower destinations can remain excellent passive sources of specific materials.

Verdict

Expeditions are one of the easiest ways to turn unused Pals into a steady supply of materials while you continue exploring, breeding, building, or completing other activities.

Firepower becomes the key to getting better results, with leveling, Pal Souls, Stat Potential, Awakening, and especially condensation helping your teams reach much higher totals.

Once you unlock Sunreach and the World Tree Expeditions, the system becomes particularly valuable for farming newer endgame resources without gathering everything yourself
