With the blade now reforged and The Last Vault sealed once more, you and Tyrael make your way out, heading to the Temple of Wisdom.
Lorath has been gone for some time after searching for help after you had passed out, and this is extremely concerning, as it is dangerous to travel alone in the area.
Tyrael is waiting for you outside of The Last Vault, and once you meet up, the two of you may chase after Lorath to continue with your plans to stop Mephisto.
How To Get The Fools Quest?
“The Fools” begins once you have completed the quest called “One Eye Closes, One Eye Opens,” which had you teaming up with Tyrael to seal The First Vault.
After successfully reforging Lilith’s Blade, it was Tyrael’s duty to seal The First Vault before both of you exited and started your pursuit of Tyrael.
The Fools Walkthrough
Tyrael will be waiting outside, and you will need to talk to him after leaving The First Vault before making your way to the marked location nearby.
As you reach the destination, you will need to interact with Lorath’s Polearm to start a cutscene, which shows crows flying around while your character jumps across a gap.
You meet with Queen Adreona, who is standing behind Lorath, and it is later revealed that she has not only killed Lorath but she has also decapitated him.
Things become intense right away, and a battle between you and Adreona, the Amazon Queen, begins, with you easily being able to slay her.
After taking out her health, she prays to the Spirit of Akarat for help, which is secretly Mephisto, and this causes her to mutate into a demon.
You must now defeat her once more in this form, dodging her attacks and unleashing your own until she has been defeated.
Adreona, the Amazon Queen, will often dash around the area and strike you along the way while the area turns into a chaotic eruption.
Tyrael arrives on the scene, providing you with protection against the eruption while you continue to fight Adreona and finish her off.
After the battle, interact with Lorath’s body to begin a cutscene where final words are said and the body is laid to rest, later revealing he is buried where he was slain.
Speak with Tyrael, and a short dialogue will go on before the quest comes to an end, with Lorath now buried with markings around him.
The Fools Quest Rewards
After the cutscene and speaking to Tyrael, the quest will end, and a new one called “Smothered Flame” will begin.
In addition to the next quest being unlocked, you also receive:
- XP
- Gold
Upon completion of this quest, the Horadric Cube feature will now be available in Temis, allowing you to use it to transmute items and materials.
Verdict
After defeating Adreona and uncovering Lorath’s fate, you lay him to rest where he fell, marking a solemn end to his journey.
With Tyrael at your side, there is little time to grieve as the reforged blade and the fight against Mephisto now take priority.
Together, you prepare to move forward, carrying the weight of what was lost while continuing the pursuit ahead.
