Desire Chests are one of the many hidden secrets that Guardians may find aboard the Dreadnaught when doing The Nether activity.
These charts provide you with various rewards, which mainly include Legendary Equipment (Weapons) as well as XP for your Seasonal Rank.
The Dreadnaught has multiple sections, and we have decided to make it easier for you to find these chests. (They require 2 Essence of Desire to open)
All Dreadnaught Desire Chest Locations
The Mausoleum Desire Chest Locations
The Mausoleum Desire Chest 1
If you head to the area where there are two circular defense areas, you will be able to see a dark room near one of the objectives.
Heading inside of this room will result in you finding the Echoed Warnings Tithe but this isn’t the only thing inside of the room.
Turn left to find a small tunnel leading to an empty cave but if you are above you, the Desired Chest will be there.
The Mausoleum Desire Chest 2
Head to the rear part of The Mausoleum where there are a lot of orange sacks and near some of the debris, you will find a hole.
Entering the hole will eventually allow you to find a Desire Chest there and to make things easier, make sure you have Wombo Detector mod equipped on your Ghost.
Hall of Souls Desire Chest Locations
Halls of Souls Desire Chest 1
The first Desire Chest can be found in the room at the end of the part of the Hall of Souls where there are dim lights.
Head into the room and turn to your right to find a small tunnel that you may follow, which leads to a room with another tunnel.
Go inside the tunnel and stay to your left (there will be two tunnels to continue from) and you will find the Desire Chest.
Halls of Souls Desire Chest 2
The second Desire Chest that we found in the Hall of Souls was in the torn part of the ship, which has several holes in it.
Starting from the platform where you fight the Subjugator Boss, you will be able to see a hole in the wall and this is where the chest will be.
Trenchway Desire Chest Locations
Trenchway Desire Chest 1
One of the Desire Chests in the Trenchway can be found on the platform where you summon and defeat the Ogre Ascendant.
You may reach this once you reach the area in the Trenchway where there is a large crossing and may find across the gap. (Opposite the Solar Crystal side)
Trenchway Desire Chest 2
Make your way to the Solar Crystal in the Trenchway and take out your Ghost, which will reveal hidden platforms that lead to an opening in the wall.
Jump across the platforms until you reach the entrance and take a right when you are inside, which will allow you to spot the Desire Chest.
The Founts Desire Chest Locations
The Founts Desire Chest 1
Make your way to the Rune Puzzle room and head to the room to the right, where you will head down to the underground part of The Founts.
While on the ground or even standing on one of the large roots, look to your left and there will be a small entrance that leads to a Desire Chest.
The Founts Desire Chest 2
The room on the other side (opposite the Ruin Puzzle room) is where you can find the other Desire Chest.
Head into the room and look above you to view a large hole in the ceiling, which you may jump inside to reach the other Desire Chest.
Hull Breach Desire Chest Locations
Hull Breach Desire Chest 1
In the Hull Breach, make your way to the large structure where red pillars can be seen from afar and you will notice a small entrance nearby.
Go inside of the entrance and you will find yourself inside of a small room where the Desire Chest may be spotted just as you enter.
Hull Breach Desire Chest 2
From the spawning area, head past where the boss in Hull Breach can be found and make your way to the large doorway.
Continue moving forward until you find an entrance that leads to a hidden room and behind one of the pillars will be a Desire Chest. (Dog Chest is near this area)
Desire Chest Rewards
At the cost of 2 Essence of Desire, these chests will reward you with Legendary Equipment, which seems to be the weapons from Episode: Heresy.
This makes it a little easier to farm these weapons if you are trying to get specific rolls for them and you also get XP for your Seasonal Rank.
Verdict
Since there are 2 Desire Chests in each section of the Dreadnaught, this gives you a total of 6 to open with each run of The Nether.
Farming Episodic Weapons can be done easily by combining opening Desire Chests and completing your run of The Nether along with other methods during the activity.
If you run out of Essence of Desire, you can always farm more by completing activities, turning in Metastasized Essentia or Tome of Want Rewards.
