Nidus is a Warframe that is one with the infestation, having adapted to it and now using this mutation to destroy his enemies when on the field of battle.
Unlike most Warframes, Nidus has no shields and lives purely with health and a high amount of armor, perfect to match builds that can convert damage into energy.
Nidus makes use of his mutations to deal damage to his enemies or heal his team while also disabling his foes or empowering his allies on the battlefield.

Nidus Abilities
Passive Abilities
Mutation Stacks
Nidus gains mutation stacks when you hit an enemy with Virulence, when maggots from Ravenous explode on enemies, or when enemies caught by Larva die.
The Mutation Stacks increase the damage dealt by Virulence and the maggot explosions from the Ravenous ability.
Mutation Stacks are needed to cast Parasitic Link (1 Stack) or to cast Ravenous (3 Stacks)
Undying
When Nidus is just about to die, his Undying passive ability will be activated as long as he has at least 15 Mutation Stacks, preventing him from dying.
Undying will temporarily make him invulnerable, giving you the chance to fight back or escape while it is active.
1) Virulence
Nidus stomps on the ground with tremendous force, causing it to rupture and unleashing fungal growth that damages enemies and steals energy.
Each time an enemy is hit, 1/5 mutation stacks are granted, which provides you with 1 stack if you hit 5 enemies.
Virulence (Max Rank)
Stat | Value | Affected By |
Drain | 40 Energy | Ability Efficiency |
| Damage | 200 | Ability Strength |
Length | 16 Meters | Ability Range |
| Energy Refund / Hit | 10 (25%) | Ability Efficiency |
Augment Mods: Teeming Virulence provides Nidus with a buff that increases his Primary Weapon Critical Hit Chance when 4 or more enemies have been hit with a single cast. Obtained from The Perrin Sequence/Steel Meridian.
2) Larva
Nidus sends out an infested pod that erupts with tendrils that latch onto enemies and pull them towards the pod.
Enemies will be held in the pod for a specific period until the duration is over, dropping the enemies to the ground.
Larva (Max Rank)
Stat | Value | Affected By |
Drain | 25 Energy | Ability Efficiency |
| Radius | 12 Meters | Ability Range |
Duration | 7 Seconds | Ability Duration |
Augment Mods: Larva Burst provides you with the ability to force detonate the pod, dealing damage to all enemies within range of it. Obtained from The Perrin Sequence/Steel Meridian.
To know more about Nidus effective builds read our below guide:
3) Parasitic Link
Binding himself to an ally or enemy, Nidus can use Parasitic Link to either buff the damage and Ability Strength of an ally or divert damage to an enemy.
Nidus can use this ability on an enemy to avoid taking damage, and once released, the enemy will take the reflected damage.
Parasitic Link Stats (Max Rank)
Stat | Value | Affected By |
Mutation Stacks Cost | 1 | N/A |
| Duration | 60 Seconds | Ability Duration |
Ally Range | 40 Meters | Ability Range |
| Damage Increase | 25% | Ability Strength |
Enemy Range | 20 Meters | Ability Range |
| Damage Redirection | 50% | Ability Strength |
Augment Mods: Parasitic Vitality provides 4% Max Health per Mutation to both Nidus and an ally that he is linked to for the duration of Parasitic Link. Obtained from The Perrin Sequence/Steel Meridian.
4) Ravenous
Releasing the infestation within, Nidus causes the ground around him to burst to spread maggots and causing the area to become infested.
Maggots will spawn and attack enemies until they explode, dealing damage in an area around them, which can also be forced by hitting them with Virulence.
Nidus and his allies will regenerate health while they are in the affected area, providing more survivability for the team.
Ravenous (Max Rank)
Stat | Value | Affected By |
Mutation Stacks Cost | 3 | N/A |
| Explosion Radius | 4 Meters | Ability Range |
Maggot Rupture Radius | 150 Blast | Ability Strength |
| Radius | 8 Meters | N/A |
Regen Rate / Second | 20 | Ability Strength |
| Duration | 40 Seconds | Ability Duration |
Augment Mods: Insatiable is a Ravenous Augment that provides Nidus with a chance to gain an additional Mutation Stack when he obtains one while in a Ravenous infestation. Obtained from The Perrin Sequence/Steel Meridian.
Verdict
Nidus is one of the more different Warframes that was released, combining both Warframe and infestation to create a powerful entity.
With the right technique of making, it is a habit of using Larva followed by Virulence to get a lot of stacks as soon as possible, Nidus can become seemingly unstoppable.
This Warframe provides both good offense with damage dealt from his abilities as well as defense with his healing and crowd control.
