If you have ever experienced a time where you were trying to breed the right Pals but ended up in disappointment due to them being the same gender, a solution has been made.
Introduced with the Tides of Terraria update, the Pal Reverser is the key to altering your Pal’s gender so that it can be paired with another Pal.
This solves the need for trying to breed for a specific gender when you are aiming to create the best Pals to join your party, which saves a lot of time.
How To Get Pal Reverser?
You can purchase Pal Reversers from the Vigilante Bounty Officer, who can be found in various locations, and one of the popular places to find him is at the Small Settlement.
The Vigilante Bounty Officer sells items, including the Pal Reverser, which can be purchased using Successful Bounty Tokens. (Obtained from defeating Bounty Targets)
Each Pal Reverser will cost you 7 Successful Bounty Tokens, and sometimes you will need more than one, just in case you tend to reverse the gender for other Pals.
A good way to get tons of Pal Reversers or almost any item from the Vigilante Bounty Officer would be to target as many Bounty Targets as possible to quickly rack up Successful Bounty Tokens.
How To Use Pal Reverser?
On its own, a Pal Reverser cannot be used, and instead, these are required at the Pal Surgery Table, which has the option to change your Pal’s gender.
To do this, unlock and build a Pal Surgery Table and interact with it, where you will select the Change Gender option after selecting a Pal.
This will swap the gender of your Pal to the opposite, making Male Pals become Female Pals and vice versa for each Pal Reverser used.
Once the gender of a Pal has been swapped, a Pal Reverser will be consumed, and if necessary, you can always use another one to switch them back.
Verdict
Pal Reversers are useful to have in stock, as you might never know when the perfect Pal is close to being bred until there is a conflict with their gender.
Using the Pal Surgery Table to alter the gender of a Pal can be done multiple times as long as you have the Pal Reversers needed for the process.
Once the gender swap has been done, you won’t be able to turn the Pal back unless you get another Pal Reverser to use at the Pal Surgery Table again.
