When it comes to fishing in Palworld, having the best rod on hand will allow you to catch Pals quicker and save you time from trying to catch up with the minigame.
This is where the Advanced Fishing Rod comes in, which is usually the last rod that players tend to unlock once they reach the required level.
Once you unlock and craft this fishing rod, fishing will be much easier, and you should be able to clear out fishing spots and get all the Pals swimming under the water.
How To Unlock and Craft Advanced Fishing Rod?
You can unlock the Advanced Fishing Rod (Pengullet) once your character has reached Level 45, which can be done in the Technology Menu.
Unlocking this fishing rod will require 3 Technology Points, and once finished, you can craft it at a Production Assembly Line II, as it won’t be available with the other crafting stations.
The following materials are required to craft the Advanced Fishing Rod:
- 70 Paldium Fragment
- 20 High Quality Pal Oil
- 15 Pal Metal Ingot
- 30 Carbon Fiber
How To Use Advanced Fishing Rod?
Similar to the other fishing rods in the game, all you need to do is find a fishing spot by looking for the shadows of the Pals swimming underwater.
Once you find a spot, equip the Advanced Fishing Rod and make sure you have bait (you can cycle through different baits if you have more than one type) and cast your line.
Align the bar with the fish icon until the fishing progression meter is full, and this will cause your character to pull the Pal out of the water, catching it instantly.
Advanced Fishing Rod Effects
The Advanced Fishing Rod provides you with a larger modifier when it comes to the size of the bar in the minigame, allowing you to have steadier progress with your catch.
This allows you to easily align the bar with the fish icon, thus reducing the chances of the Pal getting away and saving you more time during the minigame.
Aside from the improvement with the minigame, it also features a higher durability than the other fishing rods, so that you can use it more before having to repair it.
Pengullet Advanced Fishing Rod
The Advanced Fishing Rod (Pengullet) features a 1.8x increase in the size of the bar along with 480 Durability, which is higher than that of the intermediate and beginner fishing rods.
Once used, the size of the bar during the minigame becomes quite noticeable and will allow you to easily catch Pals through fishing.
Depresso Advanced Fishing Rod
Similar to the Pengullet Version, the Depresso Advance Fishing Rod also features an increase in the bar during the minigame, which is 1.9x larger.
This can only be obtained through fishing and fishing pond activities, though, making it a rare find, but eventually, you will get it if you grind for it. (Large Fishing Pond recommended)
Verdict
Fishing with a Beginner Fishing Rod or an Intermediate Fishing Rod isn’t that bad, but upgrading to an Advanced Fishing Rod can be beneficial.
The increase in the bar size makes everything easier, and when it comes to catching rare Pals that are underwater, you won’t want to miss your chance.
Eventually, you may get the blueprint for the Advanced Fishing Rod (Depresso), and once this happens, fishing will be a piece of cake from then on.
