The Glacial Fissure Dungeon (Known as the Glacial Fissure Lair) is a dungeon where you may fight one of Diablo 4’s Endgame Bosses, The Beast in The Ice.
Taking on the challenge of facing off against this boss will provide you with a chance to obtain tons of endgame loot, which may include equipment, crafting materials, and more.
Before you can take on The Beast in The Ice, some preparation will be needed as you will need a certain Boss Summoning item to fight it.
Glacial Fissure Dungeon Location
The Glacial Fissure can be found in the Desolate Highlands, which is located south of the town of Kyovashad in the Fractured Peaks.
Heading outside towards the south part of Kyovashad will eventually allow you to find the Glacial Fissure as it is less than a minute away.
Glacial Fissure Walkthrough
Before you enter the Glacial Fissure, make sure you have at least 12 Distilled Fear as this Boss Summoning Item is required to start the fight with The Beast in The Ice.
Once you enter the lair, you will be in the Chasm of Glass, where you must fight your way through a few groups of monsters before you reach the Frozen Altar.
Interact with the Frozen Altar to summon The Beast in The Ice, who will fight you until it loses a portion of its health.
The Beast in The Ice will begin to fly, send out waves of ice, and eventually land in the center multiple times during the fight whenever a portion of damage is dealt to it.
Continue fighting The Beast In The Ice until you kill it and this will complete the dungeon, which also causes the boss to drop tons of loot.
How To Summon The Beast in The Ice?
The Beast in The Ice can be summoned once you have 12 Distilled Fear, which can be done by interacting with the Frozen Altar.
Interacting with the Frozen Altar opens up a menu where you may choose to “Summon” The Beast In The Ice and this will begin the fight.
How To Get Distilled Fear?
There are multiple ways for you to obtain Distilled Fear once you reach Torment I and higher World Tiers, which include the following methods listed below:
- Nightmare Dungeons
- Tree Of Whispers Caches
- Elite Monsters
- World Bosses
- Undercity Kurast
- Bartering at Mercenary Den
While all of these have a chance to provide you with Distilled Fear, running Nightmare Dungeons is considered one of the best methods as you get a guaranteed drop upon completion.
Glacial Fissure Dungeon Rewards
Defeating The Beast in The Ice will cause the boss to drop tons of loot, which will often be Legendary or higher equipment and crafting materials.
The Beast in The Ice is also challenged by players since it drops the Pincushioned Doll (Boss Summoning Item) that is used to summon Uber Andariel.
Additionally, you will also obtain Khazra Horns, which is a currency used by the Alchemist for transmuting Boss Summoning Items.
Verdict
Obtaining Distilled Fear may take some time but grinding becomes much easier as you reach higher tiers as the rewards are greater and Nightmare Dungeons can be easy to complete.
The Beast in The Ice can be quite strong and the Cold Damage and effects that it can dish out are something you want to be extra careful with. (Cold Resistance advised)
While The Beast in The Ice can provide useful rewards, obtaining Distilled Fear makes it less easy to grind unless you can farm a lot in a small amount of time.
